For someone who is supposedly right into statistical analysis of football games, and has supposedly read various books on football statistics, you should really know what xG (and xGA) is. It has been around for quite a few years now. As is the case for all other factual questions you ask on here, Google is your friend.
There is always something we don’t know, Keeper.
In workshops/ coaching sessions I have attended with Kevin Muscat, Phil Moss, Arthur Papas and Ange P as keynotes, they all said the game is ever evolving - and if they as coaches don’t keep up, the game will pass them by.
Just from being on this forum I’ve learned - the recent evolution of gegenpressing ( which you may have observed too?),
the long diagonal balls expected as a skill set from CBs in UEFA to break full pressing / intensive Squeezing,
new expectations of extra physical gym sessions to compliment technique for elite youth,
Scouting report detail,
Whatever xg is?
Norm Boardman, then senior FFA staff coach and later WSW women’s coach, told another clinic I was at, that he saw every football discussion/ coaching session or football event as a learning op.
A very good point!
I’ve asked you what level you coach at and you’ve been evasive - or not seen the question.
Conversely, I wouldn’t expect someone to look up everything about football methodology familiar to me, that is unfamiliar to them on google, because I’m not sure it is there?
I’m not sure some of it is written in English?
Also, by asking if someone knows what a football term is it gives someone else a chance to explain - as opposed to googling it.
If you are a coach, Keeper, as a pedagogical tool it is better to discuss with players as a group as to what a football concept is, as opposed to sending them away to google it.
