I don’t know if the attack would have been thst much better with Burto and Kiks, slippery conditions, skiny 10, lots of holding down in tackles especially second half.

Sexton definitely hit late a couple of times and plenty of pressure.

The whole team had to play tough and play 80 mins, get preparation for future games.

Just a few key drops when we had good opportunities, plenty to work on in attack. Just a couple of things to fix in defence.

Defending the 6 point lead late, the defence was great.

Very happy with this start to the season. We earned all 3 wins.

First time 3 wins to start the season since 2012…

Burto and Kiks a the minimum take pressure off 7exy… he was a marked man… and did well in spite of the extra pressure…

Hayward isn't a bad kicker. Same team I can see him taking a few more kicks.

O'Neill 18th man a good option in case of HIA for a hooker or half.

Hayward and O’Neill can work on kicking at training.

Sexton handled the pressure well, he is improving. Earlier in his career lacking confidence at times, now he handles the pressure and remains confident.

#justlol @ TK…
Assuming our resident death rider won’t be making an appearance any time soon as has found a home with the other death riders and poor judges…

If fans can find something to whinge about after a great 3-0 start to the season, that says plenty about them.

I suspect we could go through a season undefeated, win the GF 50-0 and they will still find something to whinge about.

Welcome LFC, your backhanded complients are always welcome!!!… Was just thinking how impressive your Team was last week…
So far so good but early days same for your dogs.
You got sharkies next week - pray they don’t produce what they played their first half yesterdayz
Hoping we can inflict more pain on parra great seeing them bottom atm.

Dogs fans always cheer loudly for the team playing the Eels.

I rarely concede that an opposition player deserves a premiership, but Tommy Turbo is one guy in that category.

The last ones were Wayne Pearce, and Matty Bowen.

Thinking about our top 17.
Burto and Kiks are in.
Hayes is racking up great stats and should keep his spot, Toups is the likely competitor.
If Hughes and Kiraz can recover and recapture 2024 form they are in the starting 13.
I think Todd will claim the starting lock position sometime this season.
Theoretically if we had no injuries or suspensions my bench is Mann, Curran, Hayes and Hayward.
Notable guys squeezed out of my top 17 are Wilson, Toups, DSF, Morrin and Salmon.

We probably will not have the entire squad available for selection at anytime this season, this post just shows how much better our depth is this year.

I think Kikau's presence with and without the ball is what we missed the most.

Dont think Burton would have made much difference. Maybe more height on the kicks but doubt we create any more chances in attack. We played very conservatively and basically were looking for Parra to fold like a deck of cards. Credit to them, they didnt....but still lost. Hahaha.

The next few weeks will be important as we are forced to come out of our shells and find new attacking moves. We cant jist rely on a Burton kick to a corner and try to force errors in opposition. This is ok as a base method to win games but it needs to be part of an arsenal of attacking options. Otherwise we will become canon fodder again come finals.

Kudos to Tracey who lifted in this game.

I dont think we can win a premiership with this spine tho so its up to Gus and CC to find the right players to get us there. These guys will give us finals taste but we need alot more to be a contender.

I thought Sexton was good, particularly when he dug into the line before finding Tracey on a left to right play.

He definitely does this better than Burton.

I even thought Howard did ok at 5/8th and will get better in the coming weeks. Played the inside ball abit too much. Hutch would have show and go and made some half breaks.

But overall i think the team is way too conservative with alot of 1 out running.

Its ok against weak teams but will he found out against decent opposition.

Sharks game will beca real test.
Luckily we've banked the 6 points already and are ahead of programme.

Gotta do it for three years running......

I would not a boo'ed Foxy at the Parra game.
How he left the club wasn't ideal, but overall he scored some great trys in a weak team during the darkest days.

I loss of Mann and a few players playing half busted were definite factors, and IMO the petrol tank was just about empty physical and mental.

If Foxy plays maybe we beat Manly, but we could have had a very ugly loss the next game.

This season we are mainly trying to win it with defence, high completions, kicking, and effort areas.

That is why I favour Hayes over Toups, Todd instead of Salmon is my attempt to add another dimension to the attack.

For the type of game I expect us to play, the spine is adequate.

The Parra game was a pretty good rehearsal for how I expect us to play a semi, we needed more go forward, but Kiks, Kiraz, Hughes and Todd would provide that.

Sharks game I expect a similar game play from us, just more involvement and kicking from Hayward.

We will see how the Sharks go if we can turn the game into a grind.

One change I would make is Todd for Morrin. Keep O'Neill as 18th man, never know when we will need him.
