Shame Manly got a few injures and didn't put a score on the Eels.

Seemed like the match rarely got beyond first gear, real step down in intensity from Dogs / Sharks

Toups likely to be suspended.

Possible replacements :- Morrin, Underhill, Smith.

Smith has been playing right centre in reserve grade, but played second row last game.

Underhill started at prop and played 74 minutes straight.

We know what Morrin brings.

Knights should be a step down from the Sharks, but it would be great to bring the same intensity.

Hopoi seems to be playing better than Armone and Zyon in reserve grade.
As far as I can tell Hopoi is development squad and can only play after round 10.

Armone was dominant in the UK SL, but seems to be a work in progress.

Smith captained the flegg team to a premiership last season.

He might be top 30 simply because he can play second row and centres and we have plenty of middles in the top 30.

Morrin, Smith and Underhill seemed to play well in reserve grade.

Underhill made 41 tackles, Morrin made a lot of yards in limited minutes.

Smith 6 tackle breaks, 2 linebreaks and a try. Also good numbers for yards and tackles.

All 3 can do a job, but Moz probably deserves another crack.

I’m guessing that Curran or Salmon play on the right edge. So Toyo’s needs to be replaced by a middle. Most likely Morrin as I think Underhill might be a little further away from getting a start. And Todd needs some more game time. But happy to be surprised.

Hope this rumour of Leo coming over to the Dogs this year is true. We finally have done forward depth.

We scored 3 tries in reserve grade last game 2 of them came from linebreaks from Smith.

But Smith mainly seems to be a Josh Jackson type defender.

Starting Smith at right second row and moving Curran back to the middle is the other option.

IMO Willo's best position is fullback.

When Kiraz comes back, I would play Willo at fullback in reserve grade, shift Taffee to 6 and Hutch to 13.

I think all 3 guys are a chance of playing NRL for us in those positions.

Willo might turn out to be a far more dangerous fullback than Tracey, especially running the ball. We have all seen what his footwork and speed can do.

On the wing ability to make yards is important, and size helps.

Taffee needs to be able to defend in the front line, but passing the ball is one of his strengths. Less need to catch high balls or take a tough carry.

Fewer tough carries at fullback than on the wing and sometimes more room to move.

An experiment with trying IMO.

My hunch is that when Hopoi comes back into the side after round 10, he will be a much better player.

Hughes just needs to recapture his 2024 form.

I am sure Moz is working hard to get back into the side.

We might get something out of DSF, Armone on Zyon this season.

Toups has been great at times and he knows that he has to work on cutting down the errors.

We also have Todd and Underhill.

Even without Leo we might have the pack to win it. Leo probably would like to join us this season, but I can't see the Knights letting him go and he is out injured.

I also think that Underhill is a bit young and not yet ready for NRL at this stage of the season. When the intensity drops a bit he can get a run. Usually around SOO or soon after, some games are lower intensity, and the opposition pack includes a few reserve graders.

I love Lou Reed!!!..Reed Mohoney is great too...
First 6 or so minutes is Green... errr Gold.... err Gould...
Most players you really hate at other clubs, youd love in a minute at your own....

Lippy on the Hippy on extended bench, may be an injury dispensation???...

I reckon we still win after 12 of our blokes are sin binned this weekend for :any contact wth the head".... 1 on 1 footy will be interesting... It wont be good, or fun to watch , but itll be interesting.... This weekend we couldve witnessd Jordan vs Bird except for Ryles nn selection of Samrani....

I don't understand how the top 30 works or who is in the top 30.

Hopoi is a good option.

I think that our players generally have good tackle technique and good discipline.

We have also shown an ability to defend for 10 minutes with 12.

We should also have good crowd support which can amplify any contact from a Knight.

However, the chances that black and white interpretation of the rule will ruin at least one game this weekend are high.

No team can defend with 10 against 13. Will the refs not bin a player if a side already has a guy in the bin?

Knights have posted a pretty good side and they all seem to be fit and healthy.

Good thing Cirro and Gus know that this could turn out to be a hard game.

We just need to repeat what we did against the Sharks.

A couple of great scrambling try saves from us, a poorly executed, kick from the Sharks and some dropped balls from the Sharks were a factor.

We also created a few chances that we didn't take.

Defend well and take our chances we should be too good for the Knights.

I can't totally relax with Ponga and Best in the side, either one can turn a half chance into a try.

Looking at reserve grade Moz is probably playing.

The alternative is Kiraz in the 17 with Kiraz or Wilson on the bench.

At the backend of the game we could play Kiraz at right centre and move Critter to 5/8.

Hayward would move to the middle, possibly hooker to give Lou an early mark.

Not likely, but possible.

Moz playing and Kiraz sitting it out, is more likely.

In the current line up any injury/HIA in the back 5 or halves means Hayes or Peston moving to centre or Mann moving to 5/8. Moving any one of those guys is a big step backwards.

Smith or Kiraz on the bench could solve that problem.

Week before the bye… Team playing well… I’d rather Kiraz take the next two weeks and come 110% fit…

He is listed in the extended squad, that might be just a smokescreen.

He is the only guy listed in the extended squad not listed in reserve grade.

Perhaps Cirro has worked out my formula and is trying fool me.

Bailey Hayward doing a good job as ref tonight...
Gus only pays him a McDonald's wage....

Poor guy was hoping no one would notice him working 2 jobs.

Apparently the ref training course involves watching 2 episodes of South Park, then correctly identifying Cartman as his favourite character.

Kiraz is a cert to play. It’s always what we do. Add them to the reserves. Wilson out Kiraz in makes our right side a lot stronger.
