Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

On the plus side the fact we finish up in August will be a bonus. Gives us time to do a mini pre season...cos the current team stops at the 60 minute mark of games.

I dont really think Olympic is a draw card down here. Preston is the only game that interests casuals...most of the people at that away game behind the goals i havent seen since.

Yeah it really does depend on how it is promoted.. I think you may be pleasantly surprised at the turnout... I reckon their will be a lot of neutrals that, by that stage, have finished their season and looking to watch live football but want no bar of the Aleague... A couple of Croatian pals have told me they would come and have a look.

I'll be there supporting South, hope you guys do well. Would love to see this pull a bigger crowd compared to a league games haha.

Im thinking best case scenario like last years cup games against phoenix snd macarthur. I just dont see 6-8k ever turning up to watch South play a team from Sydney.

If we get relegated we woulf be considered too much of a laughing stock for anyone to take us seriously in this comp. We are meant to be building up momentum for this, we are going the opposite way.

6 months is lifetime in football :)

Weve been an irrelevant laughing stock for the past 20 years yet that doesn't stop every tinpot, shittkicking, widdle club in Victoria celebrating a win against us like they just won the FA cup... Were you at Gully last week?, they scrapped a 1 nil at home against the mighty Hellas and 80 year old Maltese blokes went home that night and banged their wives for the first time in 40 years..... lol They play Avondale at home next week and even if they beat them 6 nil, there will be nobody there to see it......

We will ALWAYS have a target on our backs, no matter how many years we are down in the weeds..
