Aussies abroad 🌍🦘

Panos Armenakas with 75 mins for Oakland Roots in a 0-0.

Connor Chapman with a full 90 and Harrison Delbridge an unused sub in the Korean Second division.

Don't think you can really blame Popa for this one. The kid's only just turned 16, so ideally Football Australia youth team coaches are
keeping in contact with him. But after 3 years in Italy, if his mind has been turned to wanting to play for Italy it will be hard to change it if he continues making good progress. But there is a long way to go.
Arena played for the Aussie U16s last year. He has certainly been embraced by Football Australia but chosen to play youth football for Italy. He is keeping his options open like many of these younger dual nationals

"keeping options open" is code for "will play for euro nation if good enough, otherwise ill quickly remember I'm Australian". Its such bullshit, wish we had the player pool to permanently blacklist these guys.

Always remember the video of Kewell saying he wanted to play for England.

Would be rough to blacklist at 16 year old. Especially in an interview with an Italian outlet.

There is a lot of pressure on these kids not even to pick Italy, but to decline Australia. Clubs and agents don't want players flying across the world. The would have influenced Volpato declining a world cup. He wants to make a career in Serie. And playing for Australia hinders that, especially getting a start.

As he should be, the FA need to assertive when it comes to getting in this duel national players to play us as this is the world game and a competitive one.

Full game for Jackson Lee for Rhode Island in the USL.

No Luka Smyth for VPS in the Finnish Cup, hasn't been in a matchday squad since April.

Who'd have thought Kasey would make it to Germany before Jordan, let alone the first division.

Mainz don't have a left back currently. Only Mwene who is actually a righty. He could either burst onto the scene like Kruse and be favoured or an immediate loan out.

One thing about both Bos's is they have that raw athleticism that Leckie had and served him so well in the Bundedliga. Not quite the tank Leckie is but still explosive. If there's a position vacant there it might be an interesting move. K. Bos is super raw and defensively naive sometimes but theres definitely something there.

I think Kasey has a profile that could translate up more easily than Jordy

JBos definitely has the tank, he is just not that aggressive but I have seen him get carded for getting even.

Big fan of Jordy, I would say though that Kasey has a very fluid movement about him where Jordy looks more 'mechanical'. This speaks to the rawness that Kasey possesses but far out exciting that Mainz don't currently have a LB on the books!
