RM williams are opening a number of stores, with big investment, even opening in the uk.

Trenery, Rodd & Gunn, Gazman Sportscraft - are all beige now - what's the difference? Nobody under 50 is shopping there. Time for a rebrand for them. CR is an interesting one, while they are opening stores, they're closing at the same time as you point out the news.

CR has had its time in the sun again a few years back with investment in design, but the basics and staples are being filled by likes of Uniqlo, even low as AS Colour now. And if you want to go slightly higher, you have brands like COS with much more contemporary and cooler design.
Yes, COS is a very nice clothing brand.

There's this online mens fashion/culture magazine I occasionally look at called 'Ape to Gentleman'. They're very into these styish Scandinavian designer's....

Because you all seem like classy people I can report that Canadian discount chain Dollarama has bought The Reject Shop in Australia for 700 million dollars and are planning to add another couple of hundred stores.

I saw a report on tv that the fashion retailer Country Road are closing several of its Sydney stores.

Have to admit it's been years since I bought anything from CR myself as if I do buy any clobber I am more into the classic Sportscraft and Rodd & Gunn brands, but it's a worry for Australian fashion retailers if one of it's iconic brands is on the rocks.....

There seems to be an half a dozen of these retailers doing the same kind of mens attire.

Country Road, Trenery, Sportscraft, Rodd and Gunn, Gazman, maybe RM Williams?

A slightly overcrowded market space?

I hate seeing things shut down, there's the human element. People losing their livelihoods....
RM is the only Aussie one. The rest can go in the bin.
