A feud has erupted between Sydney FC and Sydney United 58 over Ante Juric, who coaches at both clubs, but has been threatened with the sack if he is involved in Sunday’s Australia Cup tie at Edensor Park.

It’s in Juric’s Sydney FC contract that he is not to coach against Sydney FC at any level. Normal. Nothing to see here, move on.

however he was allowed to coach against them when he was the manager at Sydney Olympic in 2018?!

whats him coaching the Women's team have anything to do with the men's team.

It's petty and embarrassing from Sydney FC.

It was inevitiable that a conflict of interest was going to occur that was going to be a deal breaker being involved in a NSWPL club and an A League club at the same time be it men or women. He put himself in a club loyalty dilemma so this is all on Ante. If I was Sydney I'd do the same, you know how the 'game' is played.

I have been told this due to Juric’s new contract in 2024 that has a clause that he is not allowed to play the club in any form and because of ACL2. Club is also concerned as there is an on-going league match fixing investigation.

However this week, we have been told the squad is not ready and to expect 5-6 more signings so it’s not like the club is expecting to win the thing.

Anyways it is what it is, bring back the old school walkie talkies lol

I doubt a club would allow another team's coach to observe their training over any period of time. His proximity to SFC in general may give him something by possible proximity or discussions concerning the men's team that would give him a genuine advantage.

We ask that the Australia Cup and Australian Football be taken seriously - this is, perhaps, the downside of that.

It sounds petty - but in professional/semi professional sport is it really unfair to block the semblance of a conflict of interest or inside knowledge?

@No Totti No Party - I think I've come around to your way of thinking. But what should I consider Northbridge's first grade team? The Northern Suburbs Premier League side? I would take the Bulls FC Academy side as a Macarthur academy team tbh

Agreed normal in usual circumstances But I’m actually surprised he’s got 2 gigs in the game frankly at these levels.
IMO this should not be allowed approved in the first place for the conflict of interest may never happen in some cases in a thousand but here we are - go figure.
Really ruins the theatre this game represents not having your 1st team coach on the sideline.
May add some more zoom to SU players that hopefully spurs the fellas on even more.
 
Well deserved win by Brisbane City.

The youtube live stream just peaked at 9978. Nothing like a late penalty shootout to get the viewers haha.
