A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 6

I don't think I've ever seen a defender who makes me as nervous as bility

looked decent for the olyroos (at a time we had decent options). Must be a confidence thing

Waddingham and jelacic were absolutely immense for roar

surely we should start brazette over struik. Struik just doesn't look up for it

we also need to fix our set piece defense. 3 goals conceded from set piece situations and we looked vulnerable to concede more
Where'd we find Brazete? He's easily better than our other wing options - Struik & Halloran. Brazete reminds me a lot of Arzani. If Waddingham keeps developing/ improving year on year, he has the potential to be the answer to our goalscoring issues for the Socceroos.

A lot of players could be the answer

Mo toure, Waddingham, jovanovic, memehti and caputo are all young and better than any young striker I've seen in the a league era

I've been calling for his inclusion forever. He's very much a confidence player and if he feels he belongs he'll deliver
He’s form in the last 12 months has been a lot more consistent, I think a lot of it has to do with he’s mindset when he’s fully focused he’s a dangerous player in the final third plus just a great to watch in full flight too.

Hill is always up for national team games. He's got his job to do but it's a bit reciprocal too. Teams can put fans and media to sleep. The highlights show he's got enthusiasm.

I can imagine calling the 4:4 would've been something. Fact is, Hill's minimum is better than most.

Klopp spotted in Adelaide. He joins Leipzig in January. Bring a few of the United kids over.

Probably the best half of football I've seen from arzani since he left
Agree.

I think the first half in football purist terms, was the best half of football I've seen in the AL by any team in any era, from Victory.

Arzani was incredible!

Can't believe Kisnorbo has left him on the bench? Technically, he is the best we have in Aus, including all the Euroroos - by some margin! Anyone doubting this, I'll go through a check list to exemplify why.

Not only are his technical qualities astonishing from what we saw today, but his vision, creativity, synergy with teammates, reading where to place passes, the weighting placed on them, passing and moving tight spaces, eye of the needles passes he played where others would see no possibility to execute - often in the attacking central third, where the Socceroos often struggle - general improvisation if time and space was closed down - led to some tremendous football played from Melb Vic.

Moreover, Arzani defends now. Some of the synergy in the attacking interplay between him and French national Machach, was awesome. As someone said off forum, what he needs to improve is his goal conversion. Arzani should have scored today from the chances he had.

Also, Western U also had some terrific young players. Botic scored a well-taken strikers' goal. Some of 18 -19 year old Kane Vidmar's clean last line tackling against some quality senior Vic players was outstanding too.

I'm still reviewing the stats and analysis of the Saudi and Bahrain games, but I totally agree with you.

I've had a really good look at Hrustic - who is probably the best technician on the ball we have in the current Socceroos - apart from when Arzani is selected.

Hrustic is selected for the Socceroos, but everything Hrustic does well, Arzani does better, and often by some margin. This includes ball winning, defending and tracking back. Hrustic might be more two footed, be more composed as a goal scorer, but in every other facet of play on the ball, Arzani is far superior.

The big difference may be that I'm watching Hrustic play against the best, battle hardened Asian international teams, whilst only having seen Arzani terrorise Bangla on a sodden pitch at international level. I'm watching Arzani playing AL club teams for comparison purposes.

If only we could combine arzanis game with irankundas finishing, he would play for real Madrid

Mooy took a while for his finishing to come good, so maybe the same happens with arzani

Great second goal from Waddingham for Roar against Macarthur!

Also, Adamson's long range goal was high technical quality too. What a strike!

Nice to see the underachieving Daniel De Silva score a rocket for Mac too. 10 -14 years ago in coaching education courses and national conferences within FFA, the FFA Tech Dept were mooting DDS as the future poster boy of Aus football as a number 10. What happened to all that wasted talent? He had a break out season with CCM - then appears to have been in the wilderness since.

Seems to continue to decline

Adamson’s shot was going wide until it took a deflection. Should have been classified as an own goal.

DDS had the talent to play for the Roos and in Europe when he first broke through but maybe he lacked the drive to succeed?

Maybe he broke though too early which probably didn’t help him either as he had a lot of hype but he could have been our next line in playmaker to replace Rogic during that time.

Roma made a big mistake on signing him due to his international performances, however when they saw him in practice in Italy the deal fell through
