Heavy pressing is when you see the talented players that make playing from the back look easy.
Tottenham struggle when they are pressed heavily under Ange's system for example.Half the time the build up breaks down.
When you hold the ball you control the play. That's the ultimate aim in that risky play style.
And here I was thinking Bailey Wright in a back 3 against Syria was a good idea.

My son's team play this way.
I watch them train over and over it's almost like watching a dance choreography. They'll practice each play identical many times over each week with many other variable plays also practiced many times.Starting from the back and working themselves to the other end of the field.
So in a game each player knows where to be and what the next move will be in the hope that in a game that one or two of these choreographed plays work and lead to a goal.
That's the difference to the Australian national team, Hannover 96 too mind you. The coach pushes it and they just can't. I like it when it works but hate it when the coach expects magic with inept players under pressure.

The second France goal Irvine comes short and Ryan takes the bait. This is obviously trained and ingrained amongst themselves but they should just get it long and clear the risk. All in hindsight but it looks ridiculous on replay to risk it once, pass to Atkinson who gets smothered and we concede.

Not to mention Behich's backpassing. Dangerous obsessions.

I agree.I hate it too when you see a short pass to the centreback or number 6 and you see the other team swarming that player winning back the ball and chipping the goalkeeper.FFS is normally what comes out of my mouth.

Think it was Christian Schulz with some wayward backpass for Aigner to score. Amazingly 96 came back and made it 2:2 that day. I was there Frankfurt away. That must have been 2014. WSW player Marcelo scored with his behind.

No matter how many times this scenario plays out each week across the world the managers are convinced it wont happen to their team.Go figure.

Jeez Hearts have been ordinary this season, would hate to see them go down. I wonder if any of the aussies have relegation release clauses or if they’ll stick it out there if they do get relegated.

Full time in the Hearts v Petrocub Conference League game, it ends 2-2. Hearts finish 25th and are eliminated on goals scored. Rowles and Devlin both played the full match in addition to stoppage time.

Maybe rowles and Devlin are part of the problem? How did they go today?

I'd never heard of him. A 30yo striker kicking about in the Portuguese 2nd division. He has had intereating career.
He hit the post against Sydney when he was at MacArthur just before yorke got sacked. If it went in he could of changed his career and yorkes
