The Australian Championship Thread

This is the only comp that actually can claim it connects with the community, from a juniors level all the way through to club histories... we have been arguing this since the dawn of time!! Glad someone finally realised it but it adds to all those years of frustration now that they are claiming it as original thought FFS! Lol
Better late than never.....

Scotland, Switzerland, Mexican, Korean leagues amongst others play each other 2000000x a year, are these mickey mouse competitions?

yes lol (Switzerland being the exception)

the Scottish league has been in a decline for a long time.

but at least those leagues have footballing pyramids promotion & relegation, decent crowds, promote youth and can sell them off for good coin.

A league has decent crowds (in some cases bigger than these leagues), A league promotes youth and sells them for good coin?

To that clown, the A league is Mickey mouse until his team gets accepted in to it, then it will become a major league.

i dont want my club having anything to do with the A-league or who supports it.

if south melbourne hellas fans want to be in the A-League, then so be it.

they dont. Only in the last year or two they are promoting it more.

Since the inception of the AL, its all about the bum on seats, Marquee players, youth never got a chance.

and now it shows within the national team, as we pick players if there great grand-father might be australian.
