Bulldogs Debate Page

he would rather go to an nrl game than attend his teams 100 year centenary match 😂
I still don't know who Marra is, but he is sounding more and more like a trade.

If you can get other AFL Bulldogs fans to post here, there is room in the thread for both codes.

I think we are little to no chance. But if we can defend well enough we could just pull off an upset.

It’s a good game to stick with the same team. Because the defensive effort against Parra was awesome. I wouldn’t be looking to debut anybody in this game.
Todd would only be replacing Morrin who only played 11 minutes or so.

Todd is a good defender, fast, good footwork including stepping, good passing, bigger body. Capable of making yards and line breaks.

I see this game as a bit of a free hit, we need to repeat the excellent defence against Parra to be any chance.

But we also need a bit more in attack to be any chance, Hayward getting more involved is part of that.

We need to make more yards, if Sharks have the possession and field position dominance that Parra had in the second half they will grind us down, then blow us away.

We need to look at how the Panthers and Storm beat the Sharks. I think that is mostly defence and capitalising on opportunities created from their errors.

Get a lead and scoreboard pressure works for us.

At least the AFL Bulldogs have a cool mascot, and they are not the Swans, Hawks or Lions, so they can't be all bad.

Are they winning?

We are still short a huge prop. I’m assuming we will develop one. But would love to have signed May. Gus mentioned that he had signed him on his podcast but wouldn’t tell what happened after that. We really could have used him or Uko.

Thompson will be awesome for us next year. But he will need plenty of help.
Maxy has been playing out of his skin and putting much larger opponents to shame… DSF a work in progress but is making yards… still have Shoes to come back soon…

Shoes and Kiraz are almost as important as Burto and Kiks.

Any premiership window this season needs our full strength side on deck and healthy at the business end.

Next season with Leo and some progression for players we are developing, likely very different.

What is your hunch about our chances against the Sharks?

I'm definitely less confident this week.

When was the last time we beat the sharks at shark park?

from memory we always get touched up.

they are expecting 80mm of rain on saturday.

Rain probably helps us because it brings defence and the kicking game more into focus.

However, it also favours them because they have a bigger more powerful pack. And without Burto they have better kickers of the ball, particularly Trindall.

Without Burton's long kicks, our biggest problem is going to be making yards.

In their half, kick for a contest when possible.

In our end, watch out for Sharks 40/20s, complete sets and kick as long as possible.

We might get a few errors if they try to throw the ball around.

similar position to nrl bulldogs but with half of the squad injured. lost a home elim final but should really be challenging for 1st
Do you follow NRL SP???… I once had a WA friend buy me a ‘Bulldogs’ scarf… when I opened the package I nearly vomited upon seeing the Bulldogs name emblazoned on Rorter’r colours…

If Willo starts without headgear this week it will be a good start…
Kebabs will make a huge difference on both sides of the ball…
I think we win cos Burto is out… ‘his’ shit…

We just need to get a few lucky try’s early and grind out a win. Defence in the wet could get us through. Catch them off guard early.

I’m doubtful but the rain makes it closer. That’s a chance.

Love the King. But we need an alpha prop. Still hopefully that will be Hughes. Maybe even DSF if he improves his fitness.

Obviously with DCE on the open market I would be throwing the coin at him before anybody else. Either way. Hopefully we get Leo this year and he can step up and be the next best prop.

As a typically Bulldogs aside… that’s what we do on the BDO… I used to think Maccas was a great training ground for young workers.. now all it is, is a place that forces children to lie about the thickcksake, Crappe, etc machine doing a reset or being out of order… funny that never happens during daylight hours…… I’d be surprised if Maccas doesn’t have the most recent CrapVid Vax in all of their ingredients…

OK Dman, that seems like a halfway though great slab of beer post.

You forgot to tell us what beer you were drinking...

A big guy needs to be fit and well drilled in the Cirro defensive system.

Hughes is great, being a fit rep class player Leo can make the grade.

A guy like DSF might take 2 seasons to build the fitness and burn in the defensive movement.

We have churned through some big guys because making the grade isn't easy.

IMO what Cirro wants to see from DSF is persistence, a willingness to work hard and a desire to make the grade.

Sooner or later Cirro is going to turn one of these big guys into a great player. If they have the mobility and fitness to do the defence, they can use those assets in attack.

When guys don't make the grade, move on to the next candidate.
