Whilst I don't live in Queensland you have to admire Crisafuli who did a u turn on the Olympic upgrades. Had the balls and integrity to stand there and say yep 'my fault'.

This is why you can't take fuckheads like loopy seriously. Instead of saying, yeah that was pretty fucked, they go off on the maddest tangents available.

Donald Trump took some questions from reporters in the Oval Office a short time ago. Obviously he was asked, repeatedly, about the Signal chat shemozzle.

“Do you still believe nothing classified was shared?” a reporter asked, alluding to remarks Mr Trump made yesterday downplaying the controversy.

“Well, that’s what I’ve heard. I don’t know, I’m not sure. You’ll have to ask the various people involved. I really don’t know,” Mr Trump replied.

Umm, side note: I don’t know about you, reader, but if I were president of the United States, and it emerged that my own handpicked, senior national security officials had been discussing war plans on friggin’ Signal (without me, by the way), and had accidentally added a random journalist to the chat, potentially endangering both the success of a military mission and the lives of US servicemembers, I would take at least a cursory interest in it.

One last thing. Mr Trump was asked: “Have you been briefed about the soldiers in Lithuania who are missing?” We have since learned those soldiers are dead.

“No, I haven’t,” Mr Trump responded.

Again: how is that possible? American soldiers go missing and … nobody briefs the president? The commander-in-chief knows less about it than readers of news.com.au in Australia? What is going on inside this White House?
