To his credit, it seems like he has definitely learned from past errors in his coaching career. It's so often we see coaches just dig their heels in and refuse to change, but JA seems to have taken the right approach and actively worked on improving over the years. Back when he was rumoured for the gig at MV, I was totally against it. Now, I'd happily have him at the club.
 
Interesting to note that MC has the tightest defence with only 20 goals conceded but one of the weakest scoring team with 31 goals scored placing it 9th.

Could still be a good game. City v Roar are nearly always good games. City still technically a possibility for the premiership and even if they can't quite get there, they will want to shoot for that 2nd spot and ACL spot.
Other games should all be good.
Nix v MV - MV could still drop out of finals so will want to take the 3 points. Will be a dull game for the casuals though. Nix play a boring brand of football at the moment.
SFC v ACK - SFC will want to try and cement that finals spot. Auckland need to extend that premiership gap.
F3 Derby - Nothing to fight for, but these games are usually good viewing.
PG v AU - AU will want that finals spot back. PG might put up a fight, but doubt it.
WSW v WU - Should be a solid contest here. Both teams in good form. Game of the round IMO.

We are prone to allowing goals to be scored by everyone. Our defence can seem rock solid then just drop in a pressing moment.

I think the game will come down to our defensive mistakes against the heart and enthusiasm our attacking third will be throwing at City - both for their own futures and for the shirt they proudly wear.

I could not tip against City winning, but I can still anticipate a fine effort from my team with the usual expectancy of success bubbling away in the background.

We have a lot to make up for from last game and I think we'll bring it whatever the result.
 
City beat Mariners but didn't really create a lot despite having twice as much possession.Admittedly CCM played very defensively.

How can you play Behich as a centreback?

I would have put Trewin in there because he knows the position. Behich is short, does not instinctively know the centreback role, and is Behich. 3 major things against him in such a critical role (thanks Vidmar :)).

City are playing some OK football but so far we have got a body in the way each time. As the game goes on and we get tired City's smarter, better on the ball players will find the time and space they need and our defenders won't be sharp enough in the head to stop it.

Not saying we are going to lose - but we have so much form this season with fading against skill once the enthusiasm wears off and tiredness sets in.

I sweat every time Bility decides to be clever on the ball but so far he has not cost us anything.

We are playing across our backline too much and some moments were heart in mouth for me - especially that horrible pass back to Acton that bounced awkwardly off his foot and felt like it was going to sneak in.

Still - 1 goal up at half time and a clean sheet so far is nothing to sneeze at.

Come on you Roar.
 
Shame herrington dropped, but roar up 1 with a deep block

a league sides aren't used to facing defensive teams, surprised bottom of the ladder teams dont try this approach more often
 
brazette always cuts inside. To make it at the next level you need to be effective cutting both ways, yet nearly every winger we produce can only cut one way


....just as i say that he cuts inside and gets an assist :D
 
good work from brazette to cut outside then against atkinson who anticipated the cut inside. Unlucky not to get a pen
