The Ange at Tottenham Thread

Maddison is not a top 4 10. End of story. He had a good run last year but he's been average since.

VDV looks like he will need an off season to get back to healthy he has clearly lost confidence.

Kulu wasn't an Ange signing but he did make him permanent. He has been good but injured alot.

Vicario is not a top 4 PL keeper end of story. Guy flaps at everything. I would be starting Minsky.
not going to argue... Maddison has dropped off a cliff after his injury this year. Vicario was certainly a stab int he dark replacement for Lloris, he does flap around a bit I agree but is oftne betrayed by lazing passing infront of him .... VDV was a wonderful signing..... perfect for what Ange was trying to do last year, just sad that he hasnt gelled with another Centre half. Kulu was the "joker" in the pack.... I blame hsi loss of form to the loss of form of Son on the other side.... he seems hell bent on trying to do everything himself and just sint that player....

I agree the four players I mentioned (yes I know Kulu was a loan re-sign) werent even close to the cream of the crop available over the past 2 seasons but you cant by champagne on a beer budget?

If it gets any worse he had put aussie coaches back 20 years, they wont take a punt on an aussie for a very long time now.
taking a punt was Levi's mistake

it would be less of a punt if an Aussie coach came up through the leagues in the UK or Europe instead of hopping in from Japan then winning in a one team league like the SPL.

such a grounding would provide a better breadth of experience to deal with the rigors of the Premier League

Reports this morning suggest he will be gone even if he wins the Europa League.

yer the goss/leaks are getting about more now.
He's done and the usual defiant Ange presser's don't help either.

Reading couple of articles yesterday
Will Ford thinks Romero is contemptible. Personally, I’m not having it.

I’m on my way home from possibly the flattest football match I’ve ever been too. Bank holidays do have a habit of doing that. Games betwixt Christmas and new year can be a lacklustre so 8pm on Easter Monday for Spurs was always going to be a bit of a stretch….but that was soul searchingly flat.

On to Romero. He doesn’t give a s**t about Tottenham. The world cup winner thinks he deserves better. His performances are proof of that. I’d agree with him. He’s been at Spurs since 2001. He’s had 6 managers. And a physio room who can’t fix him. He can only rely on his national team’s medical department to do that. His centre back partner has very nearly been broken by a reckless style of play from a rookie manager ill equipped for his first premier league gig.

I wouldn’t challenge Chris Wood for the header and I don’t blame him for keeping his feet on the floor. If I played for Tottenham I would hide. But not Anderton Redknapp hide. Like I was a smidgy bit scared, 85% up for it and sh*tting myself that I was in a 50/50 with Roy Keane. I would hide like my career depended on it. It’s a dog s**t joke of a football club.

then this one

Scott Munn is also set to be sacked. He's the only reason Ange got the job at Spurs.

I've compiled a list of realistic destinations for Ange's next gig. They're all CFG owned entities...

Italy Palermo Women
France Troyes
Belgium Lommel
United States New York City FC II
India Mumbai City
Australia Melbourne City
Australia Melbourne City Women
China Shenzhen Peng City

How nice of you...

There has been mentions in articles of late if true or fake news
last week...

Scott Munn is expected to leave Tottenham after two years as the club's chief football officer.

Australian Munn looks likely to carry the can for the injury crisis having led the review that ended with the exit of long-serving head of medicine Geoff Scott last year.

This season's injury record has not improved and is arguably worse.

Chairman Daniel Levy has already launched his latest reshuffle of Tottenham's executive tier with Vinai Venkatesham announced as the new chief executive, set to start in the summer.

Munn, 51, has been a background figure, charged with shaking up and streamlining various departments, which has included several people losing jobs and seldom made him very popular.

He arrived from the City Football Group's Chinese branch in 2023, the same year as head coach Ange Postecoglou.

The leagues just in name Ange previously managed in aren't the yardstick. It's how he performed in those leagues which makes his success something else.

The Roar winning run, the point turnaround over Rangers in one season are remarkable. Also the J League is incredibly competitive in strength based comparison. I wouldn't mind seeing an analysis but it seems to be tighter than the gaps in the EPL.

He's definitely been reeled back by this Spurs experience but he's not without his exploits not to mention how dysfunctional Spurs is as a club.

Funny how Potter has turned out. Remember? He was the expert on emotional intelligence only to shit on Maty Ryan and then couldn't handle or plan any of his last gigs successfully.

"I have nothing against Ange as a manager, I just don't like the sycophants".....apparently
