First Anzac Day?yeah wasn't sure the correct seasonal greeting to be honest haha
nah been aussie all my life but out of the country for a decade nowFirst Anzac Day?
Did Either Have a Welcome to Country?Attended both dawn service at Hyde Park Corner and the service at Whitehall today.
The former was decent yet bad audio meant you couldn't hear too well and that was at the crack of dawn. I'd say about 1000 people there. I strolled down from Marble Arch and it was nice seeing Australians and New Zealanders converging from all directions at 5am.
The Whitehall service was better. Marching band and a March of mixed uniforms along the street. Of course you don't expect them to know but the number of tourists from around the world glancing and wondering what us was all about was something. Overhearing Germans with their uncanny ideas about what was happening was funny.
Thanks for posting this, Grazor.A moment for those who have died in wars, recent or long ago
