The Ange at Tottenham Thread

What has happened in and around Spurs since Poch has left is clubs less resourced than Spurs have poured all their experience into gaining advantages in other areas such as sport science & data analytics, which has taken advantage of market inefficiencies in the league.

It has resulted in Spurs being completely usurped by the likes of Brentford, Brighton, Forrest & Villa.

Tottenham no longer occupy that guaranteed top 4 position and unless Levy is willing to bring wage to revenue ratio to parity, Spurs will continue to slide/occupy the bottom half of the table.

You would be surprised how quickly things change under competent management. All those other departments will seem like minor embellishments

No really how this works.

The clubs I mentioned are heavily focused with on-field success and others like Newcastle, Chelsea & Bournemouth are going to join the race for top 4.

The Prem has never been more competitive, particularly for top 4.

Levy doesn't give a shit about the football side so long as Spurs as a corporation continue to profit, which they do.

too funny in bold r_l - JS96 in the prem league thread bagged typical LFC winning the league due to the rest of them falling off the cliff.
I agree the comp is hectic strong top to bottom, thats why they floundered and one like Arteta errored not buying a scoring talisman and suffering 13draws !.
The usual Top4/6 of the last 10yrs and more have been penetrated - busted open.

As for spurs and management, well I seem to think Conte/Mou had competent assistants/bootroom supporters.
So did Poch look what happenned to him despite making the CL finale.
Nuno gone elsewhere and proven his worth.

I do think Levy has alot to answer for - like any fish's head if the revenue keeps coming in it keeps its power.
The new stad and $ increase provides ongoing burly.
Conte knew he would get the sack speaking out of school about the club in a presser after he had a gutful of its DNA.

Have bolded the point that resonates the most to me.

Had a mate travel to Europe last year, and did some matches/stadium tours/etc - with Tottenham being one of the tours.
He made a very pointed note that all the tour guide banged on about was how the new stadium hosts NFL games.

If they rock up next season with Bissouma, Sarr, Bentacour etc as midfield options i'd be surprised if they reach this seasons point tally.

Ange overestimated the talent of the squad.
guaranteed they will improve next season if they bring in a half decent manager

And filling the rest of the positions up with teenagers

half a decent manager no diff to a top one can only work with the paints and canvas he walks into and can't make many changes depending window times and budget provided.
From United 14 to 17 have massive rebuilds to do, that won't change their course much following season till settled in the meantime those above to mid table will add to their sound squad, who knows how the 3 promoted will be ready to contest.
There maybe that outlier performance like Ange made early first tenure but then it puffs out of steam once again.

Burnley will have learnt lessons from last time as will Leeds.

The top half of the table and playing with flouting PSR rules because they know it's a Paper Tiger.

The only club/owner trying to play the PSR game is Levy, but is unwilling to close the wage:revenue ratio gap.
