Aussies abroad 🌍🦘

Graz, I wonder if his better off staying another season at hibs and really becoming a player? Sometimes staying is under the same environment works

Not a crazy idea and hibs would be thrilled

I dont see how he can be better there though

He is in the top 10 rated players in the league despite ratings algorithm cheating in ways that benefit top teams to make their algorithms look better. Wyscout had him at least in the top 50 percent in every stat and elite in others showing he literally has no weaknesses compared to the league

I do worry he plateaus if he doesnt step up somewhere. Whether he can start in an upper championship side, who knows. If he does he would do well i reckon

No Girdwood-Reich in the squad for St Louis in a cup game.

Ditto O'Neill for NYC but probably too early for him.

No Aussies for Viking. D'Agostino out until July with an ankle according to the frequently wrong FotMob.

yeah I'm cheering against their promotion :D
Me too but Triantis (along with Circati) is the best of the new options for the Socceroos - he's a fantastic player and likely to improve with every step up he makes. Still only 21 I think.

Even if they do go up, they're likely to lose one or two of their current midfielders and will certainly take a close look at him in preseason.

I'm betting he's good enough to at least be a squad player for Sunderland in the EPL (for example, I'd rate him already as better than Burgess and far better than Luongo). But if it's not the EPL ... he'll tear the Championship a new one.

yeah it's not completely crazy

my worry is that there isn't much difference between just missing the cut and being miles off. If he is almost epl level and misses out on football for a year that could derail his career

Popa should talk to him directly, get to know how he feels because as mentioned by others but maybe he’s ego and pride has been bruised like any sporting athlete would be in that situation, so a face to face conversation might be worth exploring and maybe he would feel less alienated by the prospect of playing with us again if someone makes the effort to talk to him properly.

I feel the dreaded email or what’s app text is not much effort when trying to convince someone.
Popa seems to have such a top down sort of parental approach to man management and I just think it's old school and kinda sucks.

It's his physicality for me its rough in Scotland but he has thrived we haven't had anyone like him since Jedi in my opinion. I think he has a higher ceiling than Mile though.

I wouldn't mind him at Portsmouth (with the exception that our players keep getting injured there).

I'd rather seee him part of a Sunderland team that wins promotion next year.

true, though its not crazy to me that portsmouth don't grow to a promotion competitive side next year

Of our aussies, matthews farrell and triantis are all players who wouldn't look out of place in a promotion chasing side if they are good enough
