Imola, something about F1 races in Italy, I know, its the home heart and soul of the game 😄

As much as I luv seeing our own Oscar carving it up and still learning he got a brilliant lesson from the master Max braking too early from pole and Max just held off the brake took the space and ripped right passed Oscar.
It was driving 101 mega move and only a master sees that and completes it.
Then he just drove away to win.
Screw up by McL in stratergy but how it goes when you got 2 No1's.
Brilliant recovery by Ferrari got to say, they finally made right calls all race was good to see.

My jaw dropped at how Max made that stick. And people say he doesn't know how to not crash in those scenarios...

Will be a shame to see Imola go - proper racetracks without acres of road runoff are needed.

yer with all the start talk build up I couldn't wait - plus luv Imola.
Frigging yank Liberty going to turn the game into USA style circus in time, street tracks, sugar hit BS unlike F1 DNA.
Oh its all about "growth" - haven't we heard that before but at what loss.
Brilliant track, fast, flowing, hard on everything.

Now back to his dive bomb 1st corner, thats motor racing purity of the modern times for me, Oscar must have thought WTF this guy is right next to me out of the blue and bye bye.
MV must have been loving it to the Max hahaha

People are very judgemental on him because of his dry attitude as well, he can drive and that burns them as well.
A real driver is as such, risks, goes for it, bumps, driven, luv it.

From other takes online - the other thing is, I think he was so focused on Russell behind him, he completely forgot that Max could/would go deep around the outside.

Liberty is horrible for F1 as a sport (but have done a generally good job commercialising it).
Two things that shit me off about Liberty is the calendar selection, and the whole Andretti debacle.

ofcourse he was wondering about Russell but you also keep your eyes @ 360deg as well haha
Max sure would be.
Thats one of the learning curves again.
I even say that to my kids about being on the road, be aware look around left right centre, glance mirrors, lookout expect the unexpected.

Bernie done heaps commercialising the game as well despite his negatives, least he stuck by pure F1 - they are turning it into you know what.
We don't know the true facts re Andretti even though he got given the run around - they had bigger intentions you could see that and prob didn't like him/their name have too much clout compared to a OE company, clutching but know what I mean.

NCB you seen this yet
couple of days back there are more articles.

Monaco, I already look forward to this race despite car have over grown the street track but this one was a farce how they only gain position by the 2 mandertory pit stops.
I luv the 10/10th driving for epic fast laps at risk but something got to change.

IMO they need to take out Nouvelle chichane so as DRS can be used - out of the tunnel looking to overtake would be great viewing and driver skills.

There's talk by other pressers

Would need something to slow down before Tabac though. Was going to link you to that article by The Race myself, because realistically, they're the only options.

Interesting Canada race NCB.
Norris losing the plot.
RB have put in 2 protests towards MB/George.

Oh wow - am watching the replay this morning due to sleep - and just got the the big flash point now! Norris definitely went for a gap that didn't exist there... Interesting it happened the weekend he mentioned that 'inevitably' they'll come together at some point this year.

Wonder what the protests are about.... haven't seen anything substantial yet - but I'll wait for the last 4-5 laps to finish before I start Googling

EDIT: Replay of the incident being shown - Norris definitely bottling this season. Probably the first ever 'Championship Team-mate' clash I've ever seen where the guy at fault actually takes fault.

DOUBLE EDIT: Ok, so it's the overtaking under safety car BS - Red Bull being pedantic there - but so was Russell/Mercedes when trying to say 'oh Max overtook me under safety car" - because we all know little moments like that aren't penalised if the order is quickly re-established.

Norris went for no gap whatsoever to me, DRS open he just went too close to Oscars rear then adjusted getting on the grass then history and deserved stupid driver error.
He knew it had to admit fault.

Yer Horner being pedantic but playing the game rule to see IF anything riduclous occurs that I doubt.

Good on the kid getting P3.

1. Spot on

2. I think he's a bit salty with Toto still - this is a carbon copy protest that Mercedes filed after Abu Dhabi 2021 - which was rejected by the stewards, as Verstappen had immediately restored the correct order after briefly overtaking Hamilton under THAT Safety Car - so I'm not sure what they thought would happen here. Unless there's some sort of team radio showing Mercedes/Russell clearly breaking for the sake of catching our Verstappen, then nothing should come of this.

hey there will always be unrest between Toto Horner - bitter rivals for a long time now and yer strategic payback and more so like being a bitch, Toto would do the the same.
Can imagine what Tot would have been thinking and thats just what Horner wants to do aggregate.

Taken from another forum, but interesting nontheless:

Some interesting bits from the Perez interview:
  • Red Bull “slowly fell apart” - and despite the team’s claims to the contrary, Perez points to a clear defining moment: “When Adrian [Newey] left, that’s when the problems really started.”
  • Red Bull had such a “direct and clear path for how to evolve the car” that he felt it had the same unique demands in 2021, his first year with the team, as in 2022 and beyond with very different ground-effect technical regulations.
  • Perez points to an upgrade at the 2023 Spanish Grand Prix as his downfall, which he said made the car “unmanageable” when there was a variable like wind or rain.
“I had to drive the Red Bull with full conscious effort. When the car’s development took that direction, even Max and I told them about it, they still went that way. And it just became harder and harder.”
  • He feels Red Bull contributed to his problems and then did not do enough to help him, or his side of the garage, and suggested he was hamstrung because Red Bull knows “how the press works in Formula 1, how it’s controlled - don’t comment, don’t speak out”.
“After I signed my contract in Monaco, from the very next race, everyone was talking about my future, even though I already had a signed contract. It would have been so easy for the team to protect me and simply say: ‘We have a driver under contract for the next two years.’ But they didn’t."
"Every week it was just about me, race to race. That created a lot of pressure on my side of the garage, and that pressure trickled down to the engineers and everyone involved. In the end, that cost us a lot. And yes, I believe it was a fundamental issue.”
  • On his first meeting with team boss Christian Horner, he was told Red Bull “runs two cars because we have to” and “we’d be happy just racing with Max”.
In response, Perez - who said that’s when he started to understand how Red Bull worked - said: “Well, now you can run with two cars - hire me.”
  • However, the way the team was set up made life difficult from the start, as he was going up against Verstappen while learning a new organisation and with a race engineering team that was also filled with people in new roles - “zero experience”, in Perez’s words.
The capabilities and experience of his race engineering team became a significant factor in Perez’s final season, and in criticism of Red Bull levied by some of his fans.
  • “I ended up staying for six years, it was incredible”. When it was then put to him it was four years, Perez laughed: “Well, I charged them for six!”

He’s the god and let’s see Aston challenge coming up the next changeover of new cars will be interesting
