Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

Was hoping for a South vs Victory game, dam :(

Just gotta hope both teams win now to hopefully make that a reality!

Anyone actually making the trip to Tassie?

Mixed bag of a draw. Could have been better by hosting an A League team like Victory or City or drawn away to a strong interstate NPL team. Either way, it won’t be easy.

If it’s a midweek fixture, it will make it very tough to get to. Hoping for a weekend fixture. However, it may impact our season as we are focused on trying to avoid relegation.

OR, it could galvanise the squad a bit and create some momentum moving forward????

Not the best draw I agree but sometimes you have to tough it out.. is an achievable goal to progress to round of 16, which considering were we where 2 months ago, is a miracle..

If we did get an Aleague side, I would have LOVED it to be Perth Glory actually.

He was a standout in SA but go off I guess
I think we are all hoping he is good, but (and no disrespect to SA football) NPL IC defenders are physical monsters...

BTW, is this guy an Adelaide boy or Japanese born, do you know?

A friend told me he went to Waverly High down here in Melbourne?

He’s been likened to Hiroshi Ibusuki so he should be fine.

I think he’s Japanese born but don’t know for sure

The announcement of Menealou this week wouldve been a positive sign to have him atleast on the bench for a tough game this weekend ...
Do we know actual dates of this transfer window anyone?

Preston have already recruited well this window with Luke Francis the NPL QLD top scorer from last season and Ryan Scott the best keeper outside of the A-League along with Lopez.

Meanwhile, we are in a relegation battle and have only announced Nagamatsu. The club should have been planning for this window when we were going through the 12 week winless streak.

Where’s the planning? Where’s the ambition?

Super frustrating from a members perspective in which is supposed to be one of the most exciting years in the club’s recent history.
