ODF we created more in attack, just didn't nail the final pass.
Burto didn't place a couple of kicks in the first half.
The charge down was smart play by Cleary.
DSF has been knocked out a few times early in the game on the kick off run.

The was probably our best defensive effort of the season.

Just keep practising our game, our ball movement and the creation of opportunities was

I think the boys needed a tough game like that . Credit to both teams on defence .if a few of our passes landed on their mark would had been a different story . Tracey was great . Wonder why they did not go for the two it was a kickable range for Burto .

Final goal kick was a 50-50.

Critter is goal kicking and he doesn't have the length of Burto.

Burto is a bit hit and miss on that side from that far out.

Cirro thought that we pushed the pass at bit at our end in the second half, but we were creating opportunities.

Charge down was the play where it went wrong, Burto was kicking from deep, we may have fumbled a couple of plays before that. A good player like Cleary is great at spotting an opportunity.

Aside from when they got momentum off a few 6-agains our defence handled their attack.

Even losing a guy early to HIA we defended well for the full 80.

Montoya stepping on the touchline after Critter played the ball is an example of the type of error that cost us the game, small execution mistakes with big consequences.

When we had the ball, we also created opportunities well for the full 80.

So everything was good except errors and the charge down.

When Cirro got here, we couldn't defend and we couldn't attack.

Big game experience like that is exactly what we need.

There are probably at least 10 examples of attacking plays that we could have done better. Perhaps even a couple of defensive things that could be improved.

I am not going to list them, but Cirro is bound to cover every one in the review.

As I said, it was a great defensive effort. To be truthful they kept the riff tryless through defence and it was only because of a fortuitous bounce of the ball off a chargedown that they crossed our tryline. I believe we have their measure and could beat them in a fnals match.

Some of our errors were caused by rushing Panthers defence, and some of our misses great last ditch scramble by them, including just managing to nudge Kiraz into touch.

We should beat them next time.

Broncos team selection pretty straight forward.

Rinakama, Hughes, Todd/Hoppoi, Morrin

For Critter, King, Mann and Burto

We have the depth to put a good side on the paddock.

Might be our biggest pack of forwards all season.

Broncos defence isn't flash. If defend and complete well scoring points shouldn't be a problem.

Great Game last night, had a Finals feel to it.

Burton is too predicable, and Cleary capitalized on it.
I think that he caught Burton by surprise, would rather that it happened in this game than a semi or a GF.

We regularly rely on Burton to bail us out with a long kick after a poor yardage set. Slow service or Burton being slow to get the kick off are factors.

Lots of small errors are why we lost, we can learn from all of them.

Overall it has been a great season and the club is building well. Great is never perfect or undefeated, sometimes the opposition performs better on the day or gets the odd slice of luck.

Charge downs are a roll of the dice, sometimes they don't work out. In a tight match like that it was worth a calculated gamble. Cleary has a knack of producing the right play at the right time.

I am happy with the way Cirro uses Galvin.

I would also extend Sexton for another year at the right price.

I would have liked another big bopper like Hughes on the bench, but that means Marhoney playing 80 mins or someone like Todd or Morrin playing some minutes at lock.

My natural inclination is more size, but Cirro seems to know what he is doing. Combinations with Galvin will improve.

King, Curran and Hayes can play big minutes Kiks and Preston can play 80. Mann can fill in at prop.

Injuries/HIA to Kiks or Peston is problematic, but Galvin can play some minutes in the forwards. Galvin can cover multiple backline positions or Hayward can move to the halves with Burton moving to centre.

Bench / rotation wasn't why we lost.

I think that teams should just have a 5 man bench, no extra player for HIA. No extra interchanges just the current system. At present 1-2 unlucky HIA's in the wrong positions cooks many teams. Add 10 in the bin if a player is ruled out HIA after foul play, otherwise dial the bin back a bit.
