It was good to see the midfield with some new faces. I thought EVE, Heatley and Chidiac were all poor. Sayer looked good though. We need to keep trying players out to hit on the right mix.

Chidiac was average and I'm a fan of hers.

Only saw the second half, but EVE played at her usual standard, i.e., not at the level required.

I was interested to see how Chidiac went too, she had good wraps a couple years ago (pre Gustavsson?), but she certainly didn't look good.

I like Chidiac a lot but that performance makes me wonder. It may just have been a bad game. But at home v Slovenia, that should be a competetive but favourable hit out. Her passing was really poor.

I thought she seemed a bit slow off the mark or to react.
 
DC who was the poor defender/s that kept giving their strikers the ball. That is hair pulling out stuff for the coach.

Bearing in mind that the Matildas are without Steph Catley for the entirety of the June/July window, our only options besides keeping Hunt and Kennedy would be to either play Ellie Carpenter as a centre back or bring Nash and Prior into the starting XI instead.

i think sarah morgan is worth a call up, she was by far the best dm in the a-league last season, and still only 24
 


Starting XI for game two against Slovenia has been named. Six changes made to the squad including Mackenzie Arnold returning as keeper. Torpey, Grant, Cooney-Cross, Heyman and Siemsen also start, replacing Micah, van Egmond, Gielnik, McNamara, Chidiac and Rankin.
