Great win over a top 6 team. The players have finally forgotten the negative and ugly football pushed by Esteban. Watching South now is far more enjoyable. We approach matches with the mindset of playing attacking football and scoring.

Thought the new striker looked good. There were comments made about whether he would sustain the physicality of the NPL, but I think he proved last night that won’t be an issue. He held the ball, dragged players to create space for other South attackers, and looks like he has a good touch. Good to see he scored on debut. That will help him with his confidence. It’s a shame he is cup tied and won’t feature in the Dockerty Cup/Australia Cup matches.

I think the challenge on Mikkola in the second half was worth a red card. That referee last night was so poor. The penalty was soft but I’ve seen worse given. We seriously need to stop giving away so many penalties.

I wasn’t expecting more from Hume as they were sitting fifth on the ladder. They had a few genuine chances in the match.

To be honest, I wasn’t a fan of the news of Sinisa taking over, but I have to give credit where it is due. He’s turned things around, changed the playing style, and has done a great job in getting out us out of the relegation battle. Our destiny lies in our hands.
Great post, I pretty much agree with this word for word :)

We've beaten 2 teams in the top 6 the past 3 weeks, could very well have been 3 from 3 if we werent depleted last week. If only we dumped Esteban earlier!

Super impressive debut from Nagamatsu up front, his touch and movement was sublime, deserved goal, shame he couldnt ice the game at the end. Now to see who bring in next week, i feel like a couple of more attacking editions can take us to another level. Menelaou can officially sign this week.

Hopefully knights can knock off mv on Monday, if they do the finish line is very close.
Agreed, all reservations about the young man dissapoeared after 10-15 mins... He is bigger than I thought, is very physcial and can links up very well with Bonada... Its was refreshing having 2 forwards who can find each other leading the line again after so long... and that intermittent squeezing play to harass Hume from playing out, then backing off, then harassing again .... just beautiful to watch...

Can Nagamatsu play against South Hobart? Would love another forward as well so we can have a genuine go at Avondale in the cup semi. You would think Menalaou will debut in that game.
Im hearing that a player, from either Perth or Brisbane has signed with another Alegaue franchise and is NOT cup tied, despite playing up in Darwin last month... if that is the case then surely the same rules would apply to ALL clubs?

I’m a bit confused. Are you suggesting that Nagamatsu can play in Australia Cup along with any other player we may sign from an A League club?
The playoffs were only between Aleague teams so this seems to be an APL exclusive rule ONLY sadly.... As for any Aleague club players playing for NPL clubs in the round of 32 onwards, I assume this would be OK as none of them (apart from players of the 4 playoff clubs) would be cup tied as they havent played in the cup yet?
