I thought Israel was the only functioning democracy in the middle east? By that definition, they are free.

Stop committing a genocide against a people and then being shocked when those people fight back.

It’s quite obvious that Israel are immune to criticism. You cannot hurt their feelings.

Just look at everyone who loses their jobs, has visas revoked or has their concerts pulled.

Imagine defending a country that has killed 50 thousand civilians and practically razed it to the ground.

What the IDF is doing in GAZA is the most reprehensible crime against an unarmed population for the past decade, no ifs, buts or maybes.

Netanyahu is a genocidal war criminal and should be dragged into the Hague kicking and screaming... and his buddies Frump and Putin too.....

It will, however, be eclipsed by what Hamas will do if they are allowed to become a legitimate state

Snowballs chance in hell that dejihading the population will work like denazification or deradicalising Germany and Japan after WW2.

The hatred has been ingrained since birth. People will ask, well, what would you do if your family were treated like that? There's a lot of hatred and some or maybe a lot remains but it's interesting to note how many countries managed post conflict. However, it should be looked at on an individual basis. Different people had different experiences. Reports of uprisings against Hamas show the people do want to be freed from it.

I disagree with these people, and so to prevent them from coming to power, the genocide may continue.

That's what it sounds like.

For decades Israel empowered and emboldened Hamas. They funded and supported them.

Before Hamas, there were others. When you inflict decades of oppression on a people, don't cry when those people violently oppose you. When your entire population is brainwashed into hating you simply for who you are, don't play victim when they hate you back.

Good post and pretty much spot on. You cannot have a two state solution with an Islamist terror organisation like Hamas involved in the Palestinian side. And as much as the Hamas supporters club on here will tell you that they are not terrorists, they are....

Just like it wouldn't work with a vengence induced gangster like Netanyahu as PM in a Jewish state.

However Putin is far more aligned with Israel’s arch enemy the Mullah regime in Iran than he is with Netanyahu.

Who here as vouched for Hamas and claimed they are not terrorists. I can see the confusion you might have in this because your blinkers are all, "Hamas bad. zimbos is Hamas"

The problem you have is your foaled understanding of history. Until you realise that Hamas is a product of Israel, you'll constantly be stuck on your high and mighty crusade. Until you realise that this genocide -and it is a genocide, which you have failed to acknowledge- has been on going for more than 70 years, and not since October 7, you'll always be shouting strawman arguments.

Hamas is a terrorist organisation. They can leave tomorrow. They can stop, but another will take their place. Until Israel's bloodlust is fulfilled, you'll always have a "terrorist" organisation fighting against those inflicting terror.

No thats NOT what I am saying at all.... And for what its worth BOTH populations are brainwashed into hating the "other side" based on what some dude alone in the desert did or didn't hallucinate a few thousand years ago.... That Hamas was supported by Iran as much as other shady actors is a fair point but doesnt take away from their stated goal of destroying Israel and ANY Jews in Palestine.... Thats a fairly crucial threat to have to just "live with". I equally feel for both the Isreali and Palestinian non-combatants and will ALWAYS push for their suffering to end immediately.. Who does or doesnt control the "spoils" of war is an existential question of lesser of the two evils.
