Hypothetical question.
In an alternative reality let's say the licence was awarded to Sth Melbourne or Team 11. Although many of WU's issues are there own doing, many are not. Eg, APL pissing away money on Keepup. AL grant money being reduced by 75%. Then there is the whole covid shitshow. Just to name a few.
How do Sth Melb and Team 11 navigate these same issues? For the purposes of the exercise, let's say Team 11 also receives the Gov funded stadium.
yer nah.
I mentioned elsewhere why bother and plugging the hole with SMH is desparate ploy in turn screws up taking eyes OFF the NPL needing sorting out.
Bugga plugging up a leaking ship or rotting house, what do Engineers builders do, knock down rebuild, the same applies here.

Another unique Aussie thing, LFC, shutting down professional leagues. How many other countries have done this.

Something about these guys anooy me but I enjoy the podcast. We aren't journos yeah they aren't journos but they are still reporting about that happenings so they can get some criticism if they deserve it
They did something for the MV grand final lunch.

It was really cringeworthy and it went down like a lead balloon.

Mahazi was doing it with them too yeah? He’s bailed by the looks of it

Good on them for doing something but it came across as very baseline comedy and not super clever or insightful

Where apart from America have they closed down completely, not re branded like England and Scotland. I seriously know of none.
Its happeingin in India at the moment.

There are actually quite a few interesting ones below...

you can't accept the Pro league here is not worth perservering with..
You can't keep throwing fuel to a fire that won't light up but for the first torch strike, the coals struggle to hold the heat Sutho.
Its pretty dam obvious how much more do you keep trying.
Its not a unique aussie thing because the Pro league is a business propersition first and foremost, show us where a floundering business keeps on keeping on ?
Only if it was run by the Sand barons let alone one of the richest sugar daddys who cop the loss for they are making a motza in the wide portfolio.

My question was more a hypothetical about if SMH or Team 11 was awarded the licence back in 2018 instead of WU. IMO both would have fared way better than WU under the same circumstances.

I agree, SMH buying the licence now is a dumb idea. That being said, if we must have a club to replace WU, I'd much rather SMH over any new franchise.

Thats not the sore point LFC... its that the so called "ozzie oi oi oi" franchises keep dying yet the traditional clubs cant be killed thats their issue!! 🤣🤣 having them continually prove it is the best part about it all!!

  • Haha
Reactions: LFC

Yeah pass.... but grovelling can only get them part of the way, an epic apology for their past failures may also need to be included and we get to bring some friends utd58, marconi, olympic, ad city, apia, preston, knights to level the playing field and above all we get paid for the priveledge of SMFC gracing their league!

No, we cannot shut down ANY football league in Australia, one more and professional football is dead in this country. IMHO.
