Football Australia has confirmed that CommBank will become the FIFA World Cup-bound Socceroos’ new naming rights sponsor as part of the financial institution’s growing investment in the sport. Already the main backer of the Matildas, CommBank will take over from Subway as the Socceroos’ major...

With the high standard of play in the A-League, why are the crowds so low?

Just look at when Cahill played for City, it didn't bring in the crowds they expected so its a strange one. But then again it worked for SFC with Del Pero (spelled that wrong i think). When the ALM get young guns lighting up the league they move on within a year so there is no star power to draw...

With the high standard of play in the A-League, why are the crowds so low?

I think the days or big crowds is well and truly over except for Auckland. We went from 70k avg for Socceroo matches to 25k. Same with ALM people have moved on as football in this country is just a phase people go through and move on to the next thing.

Also if Graham Arnold can get this Iraq side to the world cup which is likely and get results i think he could do more with club football.

    The rise of Australian coaches.

As far as the ALM goes there's not that much to look at. Vidmar might be able to coach the national team but that's about it. Talay has a good eye for youth but so does Vidmar.

Home ground advantage isn't fair no matter the seeding, Let them play it in Japan so everyone is on a even playing field. Im sure not just Iraq but Indonesia will want this too.

A bit bias if they play them there, they should be played at a neutral venue.

Anyone got there picks for the final 2 play offs spots? And the 2nd place play offs? I'm picking Iraq and Saudi to grab them and Indonesia for the intercontinental play offs. I actually hope Indo make it and the Saudis have to play off against Nigeria or Colombia
