I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said except for a clarification on the "For some reason in this state we love "winners"" bit. I don't think that is unique to WA - sure you probably could find a rare exception to the rule somewhere, but it's pretty much a universal rule: Crowds go up...

Love both the book & the movie, but the only thing they have in common is the title and the name of the main character.

I loved the "pisstake" movies of the late 90s, early 00s ; The Scary Movie series, Not another Teen Movie, etc. Went into this one thinking it was going to be the same style of movie. Well, technically it was, but without any of the humor - it was just so flat I kept waiting for the punchline...

Perth Glory match is a double header with the women's match beforehand. Women kick off at 5pm, men at 7:45pm. So they've decided gates don't open until 4:40pm. Even off the pitch, Glory management are useless at the moment.
