What does Irankunda bring to the table that the AFC cup winning team doesn't already have? Sure you could pull them off the bench however the current squad is not lacking anything special that Irankunda would bring to the table.
I wouldn't put any of those players near this team, they stuck there noses up at joining the squad as if there were to good to play in it so why reward them with a world cup spot if they think there $hit don't stink?

Being the only A-League sides on the north island and NZ in general its still a derby to many and myself. Even though the Nix lost all 3 games against them they have been great games to watch with great crowds.
I think he was let go because he couldn't get the new TV deal over the table with more money. Rugby is set to get $35m a year next TV deal so surely the ALM will have to get close to that.
We did make it to the R16 at the last world cup with a bunch of A-league players so things are not to bad. And Korea and Japan dont have a capt league unlike us. They have better TV deals so the clubs can spend more money were as the ALM clubs might as well be on the dole with the crud funds...
