With the high standard of play in the A-League, why are the crowds so low?

7 own the AFL, 9 own the NRL thrown in the monopoly which they own the papers and the radio it’s no coincidence on how they control the narrative to suit their own investment portfolios. This is very challenging for football especially for the aleague, even with the Socceroos when last week...

Match stats/analysis for recent Socceroo games

I recall that season where they played that attractive possession based football they had that Spanish assistant coach I think he's last name was Carasco? Maybe Popa could him bring back as an assistant for the World Cup if he's available.

    Underachievers in World Football.

Belgium jump off the pack with its golden gen but never won anything, Portugal have had some great teams in the past few years but at least they won a major trophy with the Euros in 2016 but they never been in a senior world cup final. The Dutch historically probably the best country to have...

He's a good option but it seems there are better options coming through the youth ranks but with Popa you know who he will pick lol.

    World Cup 2026 Australia thread

Historically a foreign coach has never won a World Cup, Belgium was close with Martinez but the furthest they went was the semi finals. That's why its important you not only need top class players but also need top classes coaches, maybe no coincidence that England haven't won the World Cup...

    Australian transfers 25-26 Summer

Talk about potential bolter's for the World Cup squad, Anthony Carter could easily fit into this category after this move. The Portuguese league is one of the strongest leagues outside of the top 5 contingent, if he finds the back of the net at this level I would not against him being part of...

    FIFA Club World Cup 2025

It would sense given it's the time the clubs go on a mini break whether its winter or summer in the southern hemisphere. I just feel having the tournament in June/July gives the clubs little room whether they are in off season or during the season.

    FIFA Club World Cup 2025

Yep looks like a good idea with that, making the format more lucrative is important. Could they play this tournament during January when the clubs mostly go on their winter break as an alternative?

    FIFA Club World Cup 2025

This is a great point, I feel the way the football has gone the identity of certain countries has changed and almost certainly lost like Brazil who were known for developing some of the best technically gifted players with natural flair in the world and now they have exporting players which...

    FIFA Club World Cup 2025

People might see the scoreline and say they were embarrassed but I look at as huge respect to Auckland City, these guys are part timers who have to sacrifice their own jobs and livelihoods just to participate in this competition. Respect, ignore the haters online like today! 👏🏻

So Cameron Burgess has joined Swansea City, nothing against the move but a move to a La Liga club like Valencia or Girona would have been fascinating.

Kasey Bos to Mainz in the Bundesliga a massive move given its he’s first full season in the aleague, good luck to him. The question is how we can larger transfer fees?

World Cup Qualification Thread for 2026 - Socceroos/Asia

It feels a weird reason to quit because of what is said on social media you can’t control everything that is said, that’s like most topics anyway so I would not get worked up too much. Taking a break from social media is ok as long as you are ready to come back.

Did I read this wrong but did this guy quit because he can’t handle people’s opinion of the game?

Sydney FC have signed young prospect Akol Akon from WSW, Sydney getting some revenge from the players they have lost to WSW over the years lol.

    World Cup 2026 Australia thread

It's a good question and only Popa could answer this. I think a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 would work better with this team, a 3-4-3 can easily be a 5-4-1 without the ball and I feel it hurts more if you try to keep the ball a bit better. I would like us to play with two different formations so we can...

As he should be, the FA need to assertive when it comes to getting in this duel national players to play us as this is the world game and a competitive one.

    World Cup 2026 Australia thread

Im hoping for a better playing style going into the World Cup, being better on the ball will be important especially when teams will vary their approach against us. Having options in the build up from a high press and having the ability to create from mid to low block defences will be...

With the high standard of play in the A-League, why are the crowds so low?

It's not about what happens on the pitch, it's mostly what happens off it. The league during that time had the emotional connection with the fans but that has clearly waned off.
