Things we would like to see in season 25/26

It’s not all about the crowds, it’s about the prize money which has increased, why don’t you want the best Oz clubs competing in the highest level in Asia?

Things we would like to see in season 25/26

I don’t think the AFC would allow teams in the national league to compete in the champions league if the league is semi-professional. Again football has changed significantly since the 90s, no offense but why is hard to comprehend for some lol.

Things we would like to see in season 25/26

The GG couldn’t beat an Iran team at home, lost to Uruguay in their first attempt with a coach who was tactically clueless….anyway I rather look forward rather than look back, nostalgia for some won’t change anything it’s in the past now. The game has far bigger issues with external factors as...

Fair response mate, you make some good points here.

The problem in that is if the results are fine then there is no problem, but if results don’t go he’s way then it can back fire on the coach. Also coaches come and go, that’s why you have a TD as Huddo says you need someone looking at the broader picture. I also don’t think a coach should doing...

Things we would like to see in season 25/26

It works for the nrl/afl but the problem is it doesn’t work for football as it’s a global game, we may have to accept smaller crowds if we want a longer season. Our actual crowds stack up well globally, the major problem is we play in stadiums which are too big.

Optimistic as it is but respect from the media and authorities, and they actually educate themselves about the sport because it’s too ignorant of them to do this and no wonder nothing changes. Otherwise another suggestion would start in August as the off season is too long.

    Major Matildas announcement

Great appointment, they took a long time to get a coach in but at least it’s a good one. Do we know the style of football he coaches? Under Gustafson it wasn’t a well coached side so hopefully he can improve especially tactically.

Sadly it’s one of the reasons why the sport doesn’t progress the way we want it without decent media scrutinising decisions like these. Instead they don’t care except when it’s a World Cup or a flair at a game.

That’s why the FA need to push for that home of football/centre of excellence especially with the 2032 Olympics games in the future 😉

Nepotism happens at all levels of football sadly.

Okon-Engstler hasn’t made a senior appearance for Benfica, ok it’s Benfica a big club but to not select a player that’s doing well in the Eredivisie in Ballard is odd.

I’ve got question marks already on some of the selections and omissions but Popa will pick who he likes so it’s irrelevant of what we think. But for me the likes of Ballard and Milanovic feel very harsh not to be included, not sure what you can say to them if they continue to not get picked...

    A league final

For me I view football as a technical game but I can understand how the physical side can play a big part in a game, it’s all about the culture it’s no coincidence that World Cup winners come from not only from football countries but they countries also value technique and tactics.

Mat Leckie as a No.6 was low key unbelievable and played a big part in stopping the talented Melb Victory midfield.

I wonder if it’s a factor of nrl and afl influence in our sport? I think people here in this country enjoy the combative nature when it comes to sport.
