    A-league attendances 24/25

In the A-League (or Australia in general) good football only gets you so far and unfortunately not far enough. The reality is that the MC point of difference just isn't very appealing. Firstly the CFG baggage is a deal breaker for anyone who is a Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea or any other EPL club...

What city need is to follow in the footsteps of WU and get a suitable sized venue.

    A-league attendances 24/25

In Australia, football (soccer) is by far the most participated sport in the country. It's actually not even close. Head and shoulders above the others. No shortage of football fans in Australia. No shortage of football clubs in Australia. No shortage of players in Australia. However, per...

    A-league attendances 24/25

A few factors for Friday's game. Valentines day would effect many people. Laneway Festival on the same day would effect many young people. Then on top of that, the weather was absolutely bucketing down. Getting 9374 was actually pretty impressive.

I'm not sure what maths they used to calculate Beveridge is within 1 hour of AAMI park.

Yep, apart from the socials, it's FotMob for me. Takes less than 20 seconds to look at what football is on this week.

Marketing is all social media based these days. Eyeballs are on phones so that's where the marketing is focused. The days of stumbling onto information are long gone. If you're not following a club and/or league on socials, or actively follow a club in general it's unlikely you're going to see...

When it comes to the A-League, sense is not a factor. It's only about the mighty $. That is how you get into the A-League. If South Melbourne or Wollongong or Strikers or any number of NPL clubs handed the APL a cheque for $50M today they would be in the league next season. Simple as that. That...

They say that because there is a map in the PDF with those two suburbs marked (along with others). However there is a footnote on the map saying these are for illustrative purposes to demonstrate the rough area they plan to encompass.

Correct, that would be my understanding as well, I probably could have worded it better.

There will never be purely merit based promotion. There will always be other requirements like venue suitability and especially financial requirements. This will especially be the case if the proper NST is a fully professional league as per the original EOI/RFP spec.

    The Australian Championship Thread

It starts the week before the A-League, so there will be an overlap with A-League as well as any potential Australia Cup games. Will be interesting to see if FA choose midweek or weekend scheduling. I reckon if they go midweek, the crowds will be on the lower side.

    The Australian Championship Thread

I really can't see any merit based promotion being introduced. I reckon (at least for the foreseeable future) promotion will always be financial/requirements based. Merit might get a club in the conversation, but if they can't meet the requirements that the existing clubs have already met, then...

    Sam Kerr

My missus is a healthcare worker, and has a natural caring and compassionate personality. Her exact response when I filled her in on the details was to roll her eyes and say 'someone needs to tell those cops to harden up princess'. She said if she reported every mongrel that calls her a slur...

Apologies if this has already been covered in this thread, I don't really care all that much about so I haven't been reading it. However, my missus asked me about it (she has zero interest in football), she asked why was there a trial by jury for this? It seems like such a minor crime, why does...

In the case of WU, if they were going by that definition it would also be a lie.
