I was hoping that someone would interview JBos when he was here.

    A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 27 + Round 16

I am one of the skeptics on P/R.

    A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 27 + Round 16

Contractually Mac could have enforced the contract with FIFA's full backing as this has already been tested in the courts. What we will never know whether Germain was already thinking of leaving, for whatever reason, when approached by the Japanese club or that he told his manager to scout for...

    A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 27 + Round 16

Well when Velerie Germain, Macarthur FC former captain, stormed out of the AL because of the crap refereeing many on this forum were critical of him - IIRC, I was the only one who agreed with him. Reading the comments, it seems that a number of people are also coming around that the refereeing...

    General 2024/5 A League Men's thread

If a player is valuable enough, then there is no need for loyalty incentives. Even the AFL lose players because they get better offers.

Most clubs have one or two filthy players. AU has Mauk, Isaias and Lopez. WP has Rufer.

Can you clarify whether you would have any local players? That is, remove the maximum number of visa players?

    A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 27 + Round 16

The first thing that needs to happen is moving on players that are not producing much such as Zimarino, Halloran, Beringuer and finding replacements. The second one is to find a new coach, noting that Stanton and Veart have produced something on the smell of an oily rag. This is of course...

    A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 27 + Round 16

Congrats to BR. They are starting to play together as a team. They just need to fill in some gaps. IF Berenguer wasn't so old and injury prone, BR would have had a very different season. I don't rate Bility and cannot see any improvement forthcoming no matter where he plays or who he partners...

    General 2024/5 A League Men's thread

The real danger is that if promising youth can't make a living, they will walk away from the sport. One of the things that irk me about the AL is the number of journeyman playing (although no as bad as six seasons ago). This has the potential to end the careers of plenty of journeyman. The...

I reckon the "sacking" of Veart had a lot to do with it. NJ also lost following revelations that Stanton was being terminated. The players for both teams were playing for their coach and having the rug pulled out from under them had an impact.

Caught the NJ vs CCM game. Was definitely not expecting that result. CCM players appeared totally disinterested, just going through the motions. It was good to see Clayton Taylor take another step forward in his development as well.

    Veart leaving Reds confirmed

I think that Talay is missing David Zdrilic's analysis' whilst DZ is missing Talay. The pair were a good combo.

    A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 26

The game had its moments and BR were certainly competitive. The game continues to expose City's issues which are a slow backline that relies heavily on the midfield, and the inability to score when they should. What on earth was Talbot doing on the left? That was one of the more daft moves by...

Should the a league continue with the salary cap?

Any evidence on the overall expenditure by the clubs? I seem to recall that pre-2000 there were quite a few clubs that went buts by bringing in big name players without any ROI. Indeed I seem to recall that Leeds United went bust for the same reason. And if clubs go bust it does not augur well...

Should the a league continue with the salary cap?

It is my cross to bear to educate the ignorant. VFA was only in Victoria. Yup. NPL clubs rely a lot on volunteers and that varies from club to club. I know one NPL club which has gone from lowest of the lowest rungs to be ready for promotion into the NPL1 and I know of another that is a...

City can't score. And all it will take is one mistake and BR will lead. And I still enjoy Herrington's football nous, so I will be watching.
