    Australian transfers 25-26 Summer

Sounds like agent spin to me.

    Managers thread

Rudan was an illustration to young coaches of what not to do. I'm no fan of Kisnorbo either in that regard. There's passion, and then there's simply bad behaviour. Both these guys crossed that line.

    A-league attendances 24/25

Do you have any thoughts as to why they are so dismally failing to attract support?

    And, happily, a great game.

Whatever the Bulls are doing in their community, it sure as hell isn't working. Does anyone know if their ticket prices are still ludicrous?

Nice work. The owners must be absolutely bleeding money with no prospect of improvement. Surely they will have no option but to pull the plug soon?

    A-league attendances 24/25

I only saw the mini match later, sadly, but both teams looked to be playin quality football. Man, a crowd makes a difference.

    Tasmania FC thread

Sure, but who pays? The Bulls and WU are investments in potential. There is no potential in Tasmania. The state is losing population. There is no industry. There is no money apart from David Walsh and he has an art gallery. Look at the difficulty the state, AFL top to bottom, has had...

    Jamie Young retires

Jamie produced some of the most spectacular shot-stopping saves I have ever seen. A tremendous athlete and an always thoughtful, eloquent, and gracious commentator (in interviews) on the game. Will make a first rate pundit. All the best, Jamie.

His attitude certainly appears problematic - but even more so his tendency to turn over the ball.

Was Popa who brought him from Perth when he was clearly not up to standard there. He never came back after that last ACL. Like Okon, for whatever reason it just didn't work.

    Perry Park - Olympic Application

The marketing lunatics are in charge of the asylum. Someone took their business degree way too seriously.

Unfortunately, the way its spun out the Wanderers and Giants have gone in exactly opposite directions, and not in the way it looked at the start. The Wanderers are one of Australian football's great Missed Opportunities.

    A-league attendances 24/25

I think many people underestimate how destructive our repeated club failures in the AFC have been long term. I recall attending the all conquering Roar's first ACL home game with FC Tokyo. It was crushing. Broich and co were absolutely owned by the Japanese team. Brisbane were on the whole...

I know P&R involves problems with the way the A League licence system is constructed, but I agree with Hillbilly 55, that the problem with A League is staleness. It has become claustrophobic. No risk, no energy. The way I see it, we have 3 problems, in this order of priority: -...

At some point, our code has to become proactive instead of reactive.

Agree 100%. I am completely over this inferiority complex football has in this country, running scared from the other codes. Its demeaning and embarrassing. Bring on the line in the sand.

TBH I think we are well and truly past the "clear air" concept now and the smart move would be back to winter season. I doubt it would do much to attendances. But of course its TV that calls the shots, and they want the content for summer, even if they don't value the content. For Ten and any...
