TBH SE Queensland could be the sweet spot in years to come. Roar to a redeveloped Perry Park, a second 'Brisbane' team at North Ipswich Reserve, a Gold Coast team at Robina and a team on the Sunshine Coast

Best that can be said is that Popovic could have been in real trouble if the offside wasn't called out the Saudis and the Bahrainis. We live to fight another day - but stop stuffing round when you have better players not selected or sitting on the bench.

    Expansion Thread

TBH the only way that the AL teams survive is with rich benefactors. NPL clubs survive on social clubs. Stadium costs and associated match day costs are killing the AL teams and the revenue unless there is a huge crowd goes nowhere near covering those costs. Smaller stadiums, owned and operated...

While I agree he is usually a good technician these days he was a very frustrating for many years trying to beat the same two or three players two or three times. He has finally learnt that you don't have to do it all yourself. That said he was fairly anonymous when he came on tonight.

He played awfully (our worst) for the first 25-30 minutes then seemed ok after the couple of large breaks in play. Replaced at half time and Popovic made the point that he was not injured.

Or issues with paperwork under Arnold (where he played friendlies) and issues now with Popovic. Tony is not known as a people manager - more a ranter in the same way that Rudan is.

Great keeper. My favourite Australian keeper when I was playing as a youngster.

    Australia's greatest goalkeeper

Ron Corry was also a very good keeper - but also coached Bosnich and Kalac at different times. BTW I believe the 3 of Bosnich, Kalac and Schwarzer all played in U13 teams against each other. We certainly don't have a batch that good all around the same age.

    Australia's greatest goalkeeper

When Bosnich first came to CCM his first training session was at Budgewoi. I made my up there and watched the keepers train. Behind the other goals was Terry Greedy who I knew quite well (at that time he was Deputy Principal at my son's primary school). The keepers trained and then went inside...

Depends how you look at it. I preferred to look at it as Australia's NT greatest keeper.

    Australia's greatest goalkeeper

The difference between Schwarzer and Bosnich is professionalism vs pure talent. When you saw Schwarzer stripped down you know he worked hard. Same can't be said of Bosnich. He always had tight hamstrings which meant that his options playing out from the back were severely restricted. (Scholes...

Played touch football with a couple of AFL players. They are too ingrained with fumbling the ball.

    The Australian Championship Thread

I would change that to 1-2 seasons. If the QLD Federation are really softening their stance then there is no reason for 3 seasons.
