bit silly if you ask me. It's free advertising for them, or they could even cash in by partnering with them
 
Unless they've taken the photos themselves, it could be a copyright issue.

If it's just use of the logos, it definitely is, because FA/APL are ruthless on that, just ask Ultimate A-League, thats why they have shields in their place on their website.

so weird tho because it is surely in the apls benefit to get as much advertising and fan engagement as possible? Even if it is technically a copy right breach

Again, it depends on exactly what they would be claiming as copyright. If it's images, which I think they'd most likely be, they'd likely be owned by Getty, which charges big $$$ to use them. It's just one of those crap things that APL have been doing for years. They want to control the media that gets put out there.

if the apl get a fine for copy right breach, that would make more sense
