Exactly. Worse still for the every day man though is that if they say something like, "I need time off for mental stress". The boss would look at it unfavourably and you get put on an action plan or something like that. Players can be injured for months and still get paid. We try to take a day off sick and we need to get a docs certificate and use up unpaid leave

I work a lot of hours as a casual. The employer recently sent out a memo demanding a certificate from the doctor for multiple sick days. They can't demand this as we don't get sick leave.
