I thought it would be fun to track the Golden Boot Race amongst Aussies Abroad.

I need some help though. Should the tally include preseason, league season, cup games? I'm thinking it'd be fun to add em' all. But it may be easier to track league and cup games so will start with that.

EDIT: The results will include goals from the league season and cup games. The results will exclude preseason games.

Happy for people to post stats in here.

List in post below. I'll keep this updated.

Definitely include cups. Pre season only if they're stated as such as some may score a lot against amateurs.

Different calendar but it's the current season. John Iredale has 9 goals and 2 assists in 21 appearances.

I've added Iredale. It will be awhile before anyone ropes him in.

It's a tough call whether to add friendlies. Boyle has a goal v Ajax and Silvera an assist v Deportivo for example. Thats decent but still just friendlies.

Apostelos Stamatelopoulos, Scotland (1), 1 goal, 0 assists, 5 matches
Where did Stama's goal come from. I looked him up amd didn't see any.

I'll add these in when I get a moment, thanks for sharing.

Should WCQ count? I think Boyle gets a goal if we add them. And a few others. When should those games start from? July?

Although pre season goals can show what run in some players had, and can be referred to in regards to building a case for selection, the serious stuff should be in focus here.

League Cup Group G, 23/7 v Greenock Morton

He also scored in a Friendly against Hertha Berlin, but I'm not recording that because I don't consider that Friendlies should count in any awards, such as this Golden Boot for O/S Aussies.

Some more for the list - depending on how far down each country's pyramid you want to include;

Luke Ivanovic, USA (2), 4 goals, 1 assist, 20 matches

Panagiotis Armenakas, USA (2), 1 goal, 2 assists, 19 matches

Giordano Colli, USA (2), 2 goals, 1 assist, 23 matches

I updated the list. In two minds about adding USA (2).

Will this just include seniors? I’m guessing that’s the most accurate to compare the players against each other. But it would be cool to keep track of prominent young players who might be scoring regularly (eg. Marcus Neill). That being said, it would make it hard to keep track of everyone, so no need unless anyone is particularly inspired haha
