Thought I’d start a thread to see how many stadiums you have visited to watch live football in Australia and Aboard & What was your Highlight & Experiences.

Australia;
30+ Stadiums spanning from the NSL to NPL era.
Predominately in NSW, VIC, ACT & QLD.

Abroad;
7 Stadiums
(Croatia)
(Germany)
(England)

Highlight
England vs Croatia at Wembley Stadium

Australia: Suncorp, SFS, Allianz, Perry Park and 5 other NPL stadiums in QLD.

Abroad: St Marys, St James, Old Trafford, Anfield, Wembley, National Sports (Zim), Ewood Park, Elland Road,

Highlight is very hard to choose but I will go with St Marys simply because it was Aus v England. I support England and it was quite the feeling for that to be my first live England game.

I've had my fair share.

Bundesliga I haven't done: Stuttgart, St Pauli, Freiburg, Heidenheim.

Crazy looking back at everywhere I have gone.

Best away day for the city: Nürnberg or Augsburg. Top beers and more compact. Düsseldorf excellent. Cologne great for the match. The city is just OK. Nürnberg stadium is a horrible design.

Place you feel small as an away fan: Dortmund or Frankfurt. Frankfurt away is awesome and you feel like a speck amongst their atmosphere.

Away day write off: For Hannover, Bremen away is always a loss and constant pressure.

Kaiserslautern is awesome. Pound for pound very good. Hertha Berlin really is tacky.

Schalke is an utter pain to get to. Bochum is the better choice nearby.

I've got to Australia games in Kaiserslautern, Budapest and Wembley.

Wolfsburg away is close but such a sad place. Hoffenheim gets worse and worse.

In Australia I've been to most capital city stadiums. Stopped by Hindmarsh when no event was on. What a place. Haven't been to Optus in Perth nor the WACA.

Lived in Portsmouth so Fratton Park is great. Craven Cottage always nice but for their ticket prices now.

Brunton Park in Carlisle is special. Love Leyton Orient with the apartments in the corners. Went to Carlisle away in Crawley. Compact town and small club with some heart.

The Old Parramatta Stadium was a great venue to watch football.

Red Bull Arena in Germany, fantastic stadium.

I have all these WC 06 visions when going to the Germany stadiums. I only saw it all on TV. Of course that end at Kaiserslautern is full of visions.

Leipzig it's the Robben breakthrough against Serbia Montenegro.

Great topic...

Australia - too many to list.... 40+ plus just in Victoria I guesstimate plus Sydney (3), Brisbane (Perry Park), Adelaide (Hindmarsh and some other hole West Adelaide played in once, can't remember), Went to Perth just the once and Wollongong once many many moons ago.. Still havent gone to Newcastle or Central coast even though we drove past there 2 x weeks ago :)

Overseas, dozen in Greece, Once to "Marakana" in Belgrade, Visited San Siro (not on match day) ...

best experience Panathinaikos Leoforos Alexandras only 40 odd thou but enough pyro to choke a donkey
And of course 1991 NSL GF at Olympic Park ...... still cry over that one ... tears of joy ofcourse.

Bucket list are Anfield, Wembley, Maracana, Azteca and Parkhead.

la bombonera is definitely on my bucket list.

Been to many stadiums throughout East Europe, Asia, Germany, England, Scotland, France and South America.

One of the best was Estadio Mas Monumental - full house to watch river - capacity 84k, but people were 2/3 to a fucking seat. Insane atmosphere. The entire stadium in unison.

Some beautiful little stadiums in Croatia on the Dalmatian coast

Perhaps the best I have seen is Ollantaytambo Estadio, Peru. - this is one side, the other side is the sacred valley with Inka Ruins. These shots don't do it justice

There's actually a little futbol pitch near Bright Victoria that's pretty cool. Can't remember the name

Dang, I missed one - Central Coast Stadium in Gosford. Granted, was for Rugba Leeg, and not Football though. If I take off grounds I went to not for Football, that would remove MCG, Marvel, Parramatta, and Seiffert Oval

yes agree would be a epic experience but so many are I suppose.

MSC done San Siro a few times - the derbies just goes off obviously - luv it, heading there 2/3hrs before koff is an experience as well.
The hustle to the game on the streets, pre game eating drinking establishments are packed, we get those lime scooters ride from Milan CBD its a bloody hooooot !

Anfield - well my heart goes boom boom thinking the time I was there and planning on later this year start of the next season.

WHL, White Heart Lane, went to one of the last games there vs Chelsea 16/17.
Can't beat a 5min walk to ground from train station, my sons EPL Club hence going, got to say I got caught up with the chanting/banter and all, what a nice stad I'm actually sorry after 118yrs they moved to the bigger one.

Bernabeu, CR7 time for the wifey from same homeland - another from the CBD train ride stops right outside the front.
Very nice good vibe but I'm no RM devotee just for the experience.

tsf, great Peru pics, similar to Santiago for me, have gone to a couple of games there but can't recall the names for they were local club games my business associates elder sons play.
Great buzz just being around local Chilean grounds.

My mexican visits over the years covers the weekends naturally.
The factory and area I stay is Querataro.
Obviously have a local Club playing in the LigaMX.
They are not one of "the" Clubs but I've seen 2 games, its typcally fast, aggressive but good football, very enjoyable and the atmosphere is tops.

Local Sydney NPL pretty much most NPL1/2/3 grounds north south east west.
Countless Prem 1 grounds and local Association all covering Sydney metro.
Gong/Win stadium is great location, council have been redevloping down there alot over the years.
Southern Branch NPL games.
CCM stad.
All the majors in Sydney/Melb.

+edit, Lithgow/Bathurst/Mudgee grounds for NPL, great experiences regional pretty much what NCB goes through.

Great thread. I've seen Middlesbrough play at maybe 50 grounds in England including the old Wembley and Cardiff's Milennial Stadium. I've been to 5 grounds in Scotland as a neutral. A few as a neutral in France, Holland and a couple in Spain, one of which was the San Mames to see Athletic play Real Madrid. One of the best football and holiday experiences of my life. The Basque Country is probably my favourite destination in Europe. I also went to see Porto play when on holidays as a kid but can't remember much about it.

Lots of grounds in Australia and 1 in Hong Kong which was a bit different.

At HT going to the bars at the time Alli was king and his song is a cracker got to say, walking to the bars I was getting goosebumps it was surreal.

This is what I yearn for here and I'm sure not alone, this bloody bogan place I luv it but why can't my football get somewhere here :(

Why do you support England, Zimbos?

I'm surprised?

Grew up in Zimbabwe we were exposed to the EPL. I have family from England, so at a very young age when I was picking a team, I didn't really know anywhere else. I was watching the EPL, supporting United. My favourite players were Beckham, Fowler, Scholes.

zim, glad you saw GOD but wrong club :) you need to go to confession haha

I'm not surprised the lure of the EPL, as I was lured from here watching pre EPL Div1.
Sensational football viewing to this day and ground hopping ongoing bucket list might I add.

English football was massive in Zimbabwe. We are a colony and at the time Bruce Grobbelaar was part of a very successful Liverpool side. As a result, English football was quite prominent. Peter Ndlovu was also the first African to play in the EPL, so english football and Zim go hand in hand.

It was either United or Liverpool back then and I chose United. My brother chose Liverpool. I'm the only United fan in a group of about 25 cousins on my mums side. Others are either Liverpool, Leeds or don't follow football.
