but very few of 14 million is a huge number. Football is a high participation sport and our crowds in both eras as a fraction of the participation rate are on the low end of what is typical globally. Low, but not abnormally low

I mean its only anecdotal but I dont think the number in England IS very few...... They have decent crowds down to 4th and 5th division I would say a rather large proportion of Brittons that play football support football club of some sort.
