It's fair comment. Given the lives they destroy IT IS surprising this sort of thing doesn't happen more often.

And for the slow here saying something is surprising that doesn't mean it's condoned.
 
If its true about what there saying about the guy ... (using an ai with a 90% error rate to automate the denial of medical services causing the deaths of heaps of people) It doesn't give me any sympathy for the fella.
These days they call it AI but this is what insurance of any type has been from the start. The 'investigation' component is when you have the policies you need to pay out and you're finding away to beat that bill down. But the start of it all is that a formula decides liability as step one. Classic example is: car b hit the back of car a. Car b's fault. Prove it otherwise.
