A lot of points that get brought up on here is the cultural differences between communities.

Basically why do you think people are drawn to hate on each other? Like i can't imagine everyone just holding hands and singing but the state of the world are the moment is interesting and I wonder if we'll ever learn as a species to just let each other be

Wrong forum, I think.

Ok thought it would be a interesting discussion
Its NOT mate, most Australians are deeply ashamed at how our own society can be so systematically racist yet there is no will, to stamp it out completely.

Its pretty much the same in most parts of the world to be fair.. everyone hates someone else for whatever bullshit flaws they perceive in themselves and others... its just life....

It doesn't matter how someone looks just don't behave like a wanker. Bali bogans make me squirm as much some extremists. Few nations can truly handled such mixed societies and it's delusional to think multiculturalism can work when agitators start coming in. You've got old generations of migrants pissed at the new lot coming in and mucking up in most countries these days.

You look at Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington. The race baiters hate them because they don't buy into the victimhood. Racism certainly is about but a lot of it is to do with class. Victorian England was full of dying white children. Their skin colour had nothing to do with it. Wealthy people in colonised nations colluded with colonisers only to make more money and receive privileges.

You don't speak for everyone. ;)
I probably don't, but I'm concerned about animosity being the product of protracted discussion on this topic. You may also project the majority view, EZ.

I have no doubt MCG has good intent and genuine curiosity by shedding light on this subject though, given his prior posting record to date.

Off forum I'm heavily involved in a just cause involving historic acrimony between 2 ethnic groups. It has been good to get reps of both groups on the same stage. At a future event I'm hoping to get reps of both groups in the same photo, supporting the same altruistic objective.

Denzel Washington is a fantastic actor! Tom Hanks regards him as in the top echelons, and has learned heaps from him.

In Southern Bali I've met the worst Aussies I've met anywhere! They give us a bad name!

UK seems to have a lot of mixed marriages, indicating qualified multicultural success.

a few exceptions to the 'everyone is equal' brigade

1. Women from Colombia
2. Women from Venezuela
3. Women from the Dominican Republic
I’ve travelled a lot.

I’ve seen a lot of eye candy in a lot of different countries!

No, not probably, you don't. Like I don't. Everyone is of their own mind and their own perceptions.

For example some people like the Orange man however I think he's a grifting slimy corrupt dipshit however I will still listen to what the pro-Orange has to say. Very important. The more you shut something out the more it proliferates. Let this thread develop if it does, people are civil here I find.

Where I ref we're very strict on law 4 stuff. (Skins have to match main colour of the shirt sleeve.) It's always makes me laugh when I tell the African blokes to remove their black undershirts (skins) because they don't match the sleeves.

Get quite a good few reactions from them and their teammates.

It's funny every time.

Is this the right thread for that story?

a good light hearted one Muz, if only it was like this many times.

Unrest/hate/brain washing/your DNA sets the tone for people in the world, you can't change everything and thats what many in society today can't grasp as we've learnt more and more.
Its very sad but thats how it is and will always be - the human animal is meant to be the smartest living thing but you always wonder about that.

Stan Grant was the guest on ABC radio's 'Conversations' interview show yesterday. I thought he was great and I highly recommend anyone listens back on the app or to the podcast.

He's got some very interesting opinions on race, integration and indigenous affairs. I know he's not going to be everyone's cup of tea and can be a bit prickly but then you can’t please all of the people, all of the time...

He's obviously a high profile journalist but I think people like this should be in politics and not just talking or writing about it.

Fearing others is hard-wired into our brain due to evolution for good reason. There's science around this. That then so happens to manifest itself in us as racism and prejudices.

The struggle is to overcome those inbuilt biases In today's world which, in general, we largely do.

This isn't an Australian thing. It's a human thing. (That's not to excuse racists in Australia or anywhere else, they make me sick.)
