The Australian XI for the second Test against the West Indies has been named. Steve Smith is back, and Josh Inglis has been dropped. Still no Marnus Labuschagne in the XI, but Konstas and Cam Green are retained.
Great!
Didn't realise you are also a cricket fan, RF!
Welcome to this section!
Just looked at stumps for Test 2 in Grenada. Aus all out for 286.
Media focusing on low scores of top 4. However, Green and Konstas made high 20s, and given they are the youngest players in the team and they are improving - good! Usman and Smith scored few runs- but from watching the ancient Ussie in in the First Test, I think he is still batting well enough. He just needs to be removed from 1st slip.
Also, all 5 bowlers, including Webster, are in their 30s, so we need some bowling regeneration soon, despite the great form and ability of the Dad's Army Aus attack.
Webster made another 60 odd, with Carey making another quick fire half ton. Webster was run out as 8th wicket to fall. He was longest at the crease for the Aussies for 100 odd balls.
Carey scored runs very quickly in yet another cavalier innings. His catch diving to his left off Webster for a dismissal in the First Test was incredible!
The pitch was again doing a lot - and - as is common in the WI, bad light stopped play.
