Any recommendations?

I have a sweet tooth and love ancient or medieval builds and love a good beer or wine

Beach of course is a no brainer
I'm there for 8 days

Best call it Kerkyra and try and avoid any place with "authentic" "orginal" or "zorba" in its name...

In fact any place with a menu in English, German and Polish is best avoided all together .... for sweets try the local bakery... follow your nose.

look up winery tours, can't remember the names we did some time back but great tasting and olives !
The wife is a foodie so we did some tours as well.
There are few better ways to discover a destination than through its food. Meet an accredited guide at the Old Fortress of Corfu for a fascinating culinary and cultural journey through Corfu Town's UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town. See some of Corfu's top cafés and restaurants on Spianada Square; stroll the island's former Jewish quarter; taste artisan produce in local stores and chat to the owners about their cuisine.

Or as MSC says winging it is cool - I like going to least busier places its got the real old feel no matter where when in europe.
