I am watching this tournament on YouTube and it’s a great format. It is something that could be done here , albeit on a smaller scale, and it’s ideal for television.
It is being shown by DAZN and is something that could interest them when they take over Foxtel and could be shown on Kayo.

Good quick game for viewing.
Pretty popular at the local levels round my traps, indoor outdoor played it a number of times - haven't a clue there is any big tournament here but agree it should be worked on and get traction.

This is what woman's football should be. Smaller fields allows for technique and tactics to prevail, but dont require the girls to have the physical prowess as men, and helps prevent them succumbing to injuries such as torn acl's which they are more likely to suffer from.

I think it would let the best athletes prevail and it might actually be good to watch.

It looked like they were all having fun.😍

Thats NOT actually a bad take, especially the ACL issue that female footballers face.

Sorry mate but that's a terrible take. Perhaps women should run 30km marathons and 1250m swims so their delicate dispositions and fertility aren't compromised. It's patronising and condescending to women.

I know you don't follow the NRL but the fact the girls only play 35 minutes rather than the full 40 shits me and plenty of others. Are they saying they're not capable of the full 40 minutes? Evidence by the NRL seem to suggest 'yes'.

On the ACL matters there's a little bit of research coming out to suggest that hormones around menstruation can make the ligaments more pliable and POSSIBLY be leading to some of the issues.

This paper disagrees with that hypothesis. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4805849/

C'mon @Muz ... who said anything about delicate dispositions and fertility??? Gotta see the forest for the trees mate. I get the polemic attitude to some of the incel comments on here but I reckon I am fairly supportive of women's sport in general.

I was simply refering to the fact that women's sport, by its nature, is not immune to more lenient rule changes for women and that isn't necessarily a bad thing... Tennis and Golf manage to make things less physically taxing, does anyone mention menstruation?

Sorry mate I wasn't saying that was a terrible take by you. (I know you're not like that.)

That was aimed at the comment you were replying to.

Then why dont you reply to me directly?

As Mono mentioned, I’m absolutely not suggesting that women are incapable of playing football. My point is simply that, in my opinion, the women's game might benefit from a smaller field to better match typical physiological differences. You’re free to reference as many stats or studies as you'd like — I’ll still stand by that perspective. We can have differing views without pretending men and women are exactly the same.

And pretending that women and men are the same isn't going to get you laid.
