What Am I?
I can be cracked, made, told and played.

What was the name of the swagman in Waltzing Matilda?

What do Winnie the Pooh and Alexander the Great have in common?

Andy is the swagman's name - "Andy sang as he watched and waited till the billy boiled..." ;)

Winnie the Pooh and Alexander the Great have the same middle name.

I never was but always will be. No one ever saw me but everyone knows I exist. I give people the motivation to better themselves every day. What am I?

Is the answer the Googled "Tesla Coil" or is there a more devious answer?
It is. Is googling really fair. Takes away the battle and using those 'leetle grey cells" we all possess. I believe in following clues in a quiz. Sorry if I sound like I am sermomising you.

A hunter set out every morning along a track round a lake in a clockwise direction. He checked/reset his traps and arrived back at his cabin in 1 hour 20 minutes. Every evening he went in the opposite direction (anti-clockwise) along the same track, travelled at exactly the same speed and spent the same time at each trap - and yet he completed the anti-clockwise circuit in only 80 minutes.

How do you account for the time difference?

All good - and your puzzle your rules. I suspected there of being more of a puzzle to it than 'simply' unknown and interesting information. There can be no battle or the use of those grey cells if it is either known or unknown information though.

The challenge with online posted puzzles is that the first person who publishes the answer does spoil it for the ones who don't get to it sooner.

Maybe people DM their answers so the poster knows it is being looked at and after a period of time (a week?) the answer goes on the page? A Google Spoil like mine, or an already known puzzle like R_T_S's then doesn't deprive others of the fun of the hunt.

The future? Hope? Ideas?
You are very warm. Actually I will give it to you. Tomorrow. But future is more apt.

Not my puzzle, ours, all players.

There is if you ask questions which inevitably lead to answers. When I was a quiz master on another forum I'd permit online searching once a player had sufficient info and only needed to confirm that. A matter of trust really.

What runs, but never walks. Murmurs, but never talks. Has a bed, but never sleeps. And has a mouth, but never eats?
