Well that is extremely hyperbolic, because not true. Again, majority of the objections stem form lack of education. It's why China has Muslims in worker camps, treated as slaves.

Prayer time has 5 set times throughout the day. Prayer can be performed anyway. Granted, when blocking a footpath, or impeding on others, the prayer is not accepted. That is not the religion, that is people just being idiots, and not the teachings of the religion.

Oh please, do tell me about these provisions in schools that only Muslims get, and no other group does. Before you spout something you read on a Facebook moma group, I work in a school, so know all the policy and provisions

No denying Christian extremism

This goes for across the world, not specifically Australia, requests that are sometimes granted for gender segregated activities such as swimming. Demands for time off school or work for religious events. Demand or removal of certain foods in canteens.

Don't come back with 'omg, they took your pork'. It's about giving an inch and a mile being taken.

So it appears what we need are more commendable members of society telling those being idiots to stop it. I think the issue is most people, of any group, ask why it should be them to discipline others. But what if the idiots start outnumbering the good and then get rabid in defence of their behaviours? Well, you get Bangladesh or American gun culture.

I'm not German but such things are rustling feathers. People say get over it. Can't serve be returned about what others find sacred. I think religion is certainly higher than pork for those serious about it but the lack of respect shown to local customs in order to pander to new, foreign ones isn't helping social cohesion.

This is clear as day for all migrant groups in Germany including moderate Turks but for groups who've arrived the last 10 years changing the social fabric.

you had me at "pork" lol........ but I agree btw... Its NOT assimilation to have basic understanding, decency and respect around your host nation's customs.... That is IF you intentions are to fit in and make a life for yourself and your family.... we DID.

There is no race of Muslims. Islam is a religion, a system of ideas, subscribed to by people of every race and ethnicity. It’s just like Christianity in that regard. Christianity and Islam are both aggressively missionary faiths, and they win converts from everywhere.

We are critical towards Christianity all the time and with very good reason. At times it's an abhorrent religion. And we constantly worry about its political and social influences but no one confuses this for bigotry against Christians as people.

There’s no such thing as 'Christophobia'....

Islamophobia was invented to deny discussion about any concerning matter. The issue is too many of any faith for that matter, keep reverting their viewpoints and decisions back to fucking books from the stone age. How backwards can you be to refer to some texts based on heresay when you won't believe a mate's story from the night out before?

Ironic the term was invented when phobias are considered as irrational fears. So they used the word which means it doesn't exist to portray something they think should exist to give themselves something to stand on?

You have a phobia about me! Why would you create that when phobias are things that don't make sense in the first place?

When I said Facebook mom posts, you were like, for sure.

We have segregated gyms. Not Muslim owned or invented, why can't women request their own space at the school? Our school has a girls only gym. Absolutely no boys allowed to use it, not even male teachers. No one demands segregated activities, it just happens. In all schools.

Oh no, a person wants a day off work to celebrate their religious holiday. The entire Gregorian calendar caters to Christian holidays, but heaven forbid someone else wants to celebrate their religious holiday. We're not demanding. We ask, and we use sick leave, or paid or unpaid leave.

Not seen a single school demand food be removed for religious reasons.

I have seen schools demand Staff and teachers sign contracts denouncing being gay or lesbian. We have a whole Catholic system that I can never get a job in simply because of my religion. In fact I was rejected from a school not based on experience or anything, but simply because, "you're not Christian, which means we can't trust your character as you can't get a priest letter".

Yes, those are the exact words said to me. I guess that discrimination is ok, but asking for a day off to celebrate a religious holiday is horrible.
