Iron Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

Yeah thats the one .... they went toe to toe.... again any boxing fans, dont kill me I just know what IOs aw, looked like a great fight with lots of heart from both...

I agree about Tyson, he had one last crack (I suspect because he needed one last payday) and didnt embarrass himself too much... what surprised me was how shit that Paul guy was, monster of a man, towered over him and couldn't reach out to tap him a few times in the final rounds when clearly Mike was gassed??? Maybe it WAS a choreographed stunt.... oh well, was interesting to watch.
US$20M + got Tyson's brain ticking haha
Paul could have taken him out for sure those last rounds - I reckon he had 1 small piece of moral not to take Tyson out.
Yep, I think that's exactly what happened.

Very different to the Mayweather/Macgregor fight years back, when arguably both had a point to prove by winning.
Tyson's point was that he could come back and have a fight I think. Paul's was that he could hang with Tyson (regardless of age).

On point again.

With Jake realising about 2 minutes into the fight that the old fella wasn’t up to it, the young buck decided to toy with him to keep the fight going for some reason that we’ll neverrrrrr know.

I reckon it would have been written into the contract. Plus imagine the shit he would have copped knocking out a 58 year old boxing legend.

Sure but there was probably an agreement for both of them.
Yeah seems that way .... It did look like Tyson was trying his best to land a knockout though... who knows..... Not sure what boxing fans think of the spectacle but if anything it certainly drew hundreds of thousands of people (if not millions) around the world to see the under-card fights before it...

hey were talking about the land of make believe and the punters luv it - what isn't staged there more than not.

Possibly an agreement that once Tyson is unable to perform (his discretion), they 'fight' to a decision. Because it certainly looked like the first two rounds Tyson was going for it.

As for the undercard... something my mate mentioned to me this morning - say what you want about JP, he brings eyeballs to his fights, and is apparently a big advocate for women's boxing (hence the decision to make that match the co-main event).

TBH the aids part didn't grab me but his quotes and addiction in that article, a good one when your in the after life.....

At 58 years old, Tyson acknowledged he will eventually die at some point anyway. However, he doesn’t care about what legacy he leaves behind.

“What do I care about my legacy?” Tyson said. “I never knew what a legacy was, and people started throwing that word around so loosely. A legacy sounds like ego to me. I’m going to be dead soon. Who cares what somebody is going to think about me when I’m dead? We don’t talk about Charles Manson. No one cares about nobody when they’re dead and gone.”

Tyson’s former bodyguard and chauffeur, Rudy Gonzalez, told the US Sun in 2021 Tyson needed sex so frequently to maintain his lifestyle that he was instructed to keep “groupies” in the bathrooms and changing rooms at the venues before fights.

“I would have to find a groupie. It did not matter who it was. He’d say, ‘If I do not get laid, I will kill this guy right now’,” Gonzalez said.

“Mike had to get laid to disengage some of the strength he had. So, I had girls tucked away in bathrooms and changing rooms.”

and he is a convicted rapist as known.

Just wank lad champagne of victory

There's 2 Jake Pauls for me.

I'm a YT creator on the side with a small channel I work hard at building up. There's a million help videos on YT channels and it's a sea of garbage with a few worthwhile people and he gives some good advice to other creators.

As a person, I find him outside of that niche area to be a bit of a wanker. Ok, so arranging earlier fights against closer to prime fighters was a business master stroke. But beating up almost pensioners.... no.

I like boxing but I didn't watch that farce.
For me, main reason I did was that it was included on Netflix at no extra charge, and wanted to see how they went production wise with WWE moving over in January.

Added value, for some reason my wife got interested in Boxing during the undercard/preshow, so wanted to watch the two title matches
