anniversary tomorrow. Might watch the game. My kids are old enough that I can show them this game, but young enough I can pretend it is happening live and we haven't qualified for 32 years

they might get confused next roos game to see now kewell, cahill, viduka or bresciano though

That was the game when Channel 7 cut to an advert just as the World were taking a corner kick. Yakin headed home from the corner and we all missed it.

This arvo watched the full replay of the 2005 Australia v Uruguay WCQ.I was at the game that fantastic night and have watched replays of the pen shootout multiple times but until today never the full match.

It was an experience being there with all the emotion in the crowd.Watching the game replay brought back great memories.How good was a semi fit Kewell in attack and defence and how good were Neill,Vidmar ,Emerton and Chipperfield.In fact every player that night stood tall and left nothing on the pitch.

Iran 97 still hurts to this day, Its what got me into the game and i loved it. It was fun playing football unlike when i played AFL it was like working at a job u hate.

these days it is more bitter sweet as there are only so many roos games with both viduka and kewell playing. So seeing that is a silver lining despite the grim finish
