Looks great apart from one thing. We shouldn't have two Vic teams in the same group. Swap one Vic from group C with one NSW from group D. Also sucks no Vic vs SA.

Put Preston in D and Sydney in C. Done.
 
Something to keep in mind:

This benefits a lot more than the clubs or the player. This benefits coaches, sponsors, commentators, referees and exposure to academy players.

As fans, you have to encourage people to show up every week to support the team, not just on streams. I can help with that, but that is all I can do.

Get excited, start getting others around this and start combating some of the bs online.

I wonder how the Feds are reacting to this.
First up losing the 8 Clubs we know of from their premium comp then plus + Clubs by the look of it therefore its going to be a real overhaul of Div's below elevating Clubs to fulfil each division.
FNSW went to 16 club comps couple of seasons back.
That shuffled to pack from 4 Divs to 3.
Hence seeing a Club like Spirit punching above their weight in NPL1 atm having been a long time NPL2/3 club over the earlier years.

Even cooler would be 16 x club h/a Championship in 2026 AND 16 x club NPL National end of season tournament (8 x EOI clubs plus 8 x federation premiers) to decide which two clubs get promoted into 2027 Championship ........

I hear (rumours) that the state feds are finally now all on board with this going ahead.... maybe they see some value in it?

Hopefully this is the start of the whole of football getting its act together and moving forward as one.
It’s the only way that football at the professional level can move in with the big boys.

yep - and I don't want to be a wet blanket but worries I guess in the back of my mind moving forward.
Originally it was careful careful due to the high bar set by the FA just 8 Clubs got through the GO gate.
IMO the FA we're asking far too much up front anyway.
Since they all would have thought this ain't enough what next ?
Oh we have lowered the bar now we have a motza coming into the Comp which is damn awesum but where is the $ coming from to travel etcetc from the smaller clubs ?
Is the FA kicking in I suspect ?
Is the FA refunding some $ to the 8 ? or haven't they paid that yet ?

Interesting time look forward to some sauce from the powers.

Opening Fixtures

  • Friday, 10 October – South Melbourne FC v Sydney Olympic FC at Lakeside Stadium, Melbourne
  • Saturday, 11 October – Preston Lions FC v NPL Premier (NSW) at BT Connor Reserve, Melbourne
Round two feature matches will showcase NSW-based Foundation Clubs. Apia Leichhardt FC hosts Sydney United FC at Leichhardt Oval on Friday, 17 October in what promises to be a fierce battle for 3 points, and Wollongong Wolves FC will return home to WIN Stadium and face the reigning NPL VIC Premiers on Saturday, 18 October.
