Of course somebody here will say it's their choice whether they want to leave or not not and that's true but either way we shouldn't be a part of it.

As for immigration that's fine but they need to limit the amount of people they're bringing in to sustainable levels. For example you can't bring in 400 000 people in a year if you can only build 200 000 houses. If it's a one off, fine, but it's not.

200k houses short in year one means that we're a million homes short in 5 years. It's not rocket surgery to see how that's going to create a problem.

Despite calls from both parties to have a discussion about Australia's population goals nobody has stepped up to have a crack at what it could be. Do we want 50 million by 2050, 100 million?? What are we aiming for here? There seems to be no plan at all except bring them in because we're short fruit pickers, baristas, waiters and menial workers..

Brain drains and flight of skilled people is a moral issue that I feel needs to be compensated. Australia gets by on the fruits of labour paid for by other countries and leaves them fighting the tide to support and develop themselves. Foreign aid and development funds should be tied to compensating for the impacts we cause in some respects.

That said: I don't necessarily give that much of a shit. Certainly I don't feel I should care more about a country than its own people. I work in the tech sector and let's just say there is an abundance of very well heeled people that wouldn't give it a second thought to set up a sweat shop from whence they came.

Bro, I can't express how much I hate never-ending sprawl and how it creates chaos. I see France developing their urban centres and it makes me weep for how car-dependent we are and how many fat people it's created.

'cheap land' in very big fuck off inverted commas. Fuck these developer cunce land banking and trickling out land to jam the prices up.

In places like coastal areas or capital cities it's understandable that a block costs a fortune but in places like Wagga, Armidale, Tamworth, Dubbo, Grafton where there's flat or undulating land in every fucking direction blocks should be $50 a throw not $400 000.
