Just noticed that they are all on the old side. Surely retirement is not that far away for Duke and Deng.

Pretty dire. None should feature for the NT until those minutes come.

Geria is still a tidy professional and didn'T he come into the national team during A League pre season? For 2 matches I don't think he'd have regressed so much. He may even have a freshness.

Deng has been dropped by the last 2 Australia coaches after woeful performances. I'm so thankful for Duke's service but we need to drop him to create a striker power vacuum.

It's a 26 man squad right?

Need to select multiple strikers and see who trains best

Yengi can do the job when match fit but we all saw in the first window how remedial he can be when not 100% (to be fair that's true of most players) and he has just come back

Pretty sure 26 these days. I'll start having a browse and post my squad in the other thread. Think I'm going to risk it in defence as we've got to get the attacking options listed.

Will be interested if oli jones returns from injury and hits the ground running in Denmark

Really impressed me while here. Kikianis really impressed me even more than matthews who has been remedial at deal ling with balls in the air despite being 6 ft 4 (that's bound to change ASAP!)

Alex grants career is impressive and has turned sfcs defense around in a short time
Kye rowles has done it before and is starting in a decent league

Burgess the obvious lock if fit, but that's a big if

Degenek karacic and davidson getting game time and are options

Trewin has stood out for city

So lots of options but had to select a combination I feel confident in

I think Yengi can do a role as a sub against a tiring defence. That's where he wreaked the most havoc for Portsmouth last season, as an impact sub. I'd have him in the squad.

He is a giant, agile and very fast

And despite being technically poor, he doesn't seem to realise he is technically poor and tries some high difficulty, creative moves that are too hard for him and with his athleticism they come off often enough to be useful for his side

Assuming a back three, and Popovic is true to selecting 6 CB's each squad, this is what I expect:

LCB: Rowles, Iredale
CB: Triantis, Degenek
RCB: Geria, Miller

It's real tough to pick with all the injuries though. You almost need to expect something left field.

At least the qualifiers are frightening enough to be fun

If we had a golden gen quality side this campaign would be a lot more boring haha

A proven goal scorer for the NT. Yengi troubles Asian defences with those qualities. I think that offers us a good option from the bench if needed.

I'm gonna spew if I see 10 defenders picked again.

And an aerial threat. Our set pieces have become a bit one dimensional focusing too much on a static souttar just jump straight up and try and score

Miller and Irvine are other aerial threats as is triantis

I feel like we should be using Souttar as a decoy more. There are lots of other aerial threats in the team you're right.
